Bono once wrote a letter to Captain Beefheart asking if he would be interested in writing/recording together. The reply was hand written, and it said this:

"Dear Bongo, No."

Anybody get(ting) Eric Church tickets? Snagged mine today in the Church Choir presale. I like how Eric does it, but this year he let Ticketmaster "Verified Fan" run it and of course it wasn't as good as last year's. Plus, in pure Ticketmaster fashion, the first three rows of the floor are "Platinum Seats!!!" despite us getting front row last year for the same price as the rest of the floor.

Oh well, we're sitting fourth row this year, Friday night show.

Buying tickets is annoying as **** anymore.

Neil Young solo at the Tower Theater tonight, heading down there with my wife. I've never been to see a show in Upper Darby but hoping it's not a clusterfck. This is a bucket list concert for me, absolutely cannot wait.

We got Foo tix for San Jose straight through Ticketmaster. Excluding festivals, that's probably the only time in at least six or seven years we've gotten tickets for show and not have to go through a reseller like StubHub.

Foos even had an in-person only presale for mailing list members for a show at the Forum in LA. (I forget if it was a tour date, or the one-off show they did in 2014 or 2015 for Dave's birthday) They called it "Beat The Bots". I drove down there, and there were 2,500 people in line.

It really sucks that no one has been able to give ticketmaster a run for their money. They're essentially a monopoly

Neil Young was absolutely sublime last night. Just walking around the stage playing every instrument you can think of... Insanely talented. He played Thrasher and Pocahontas off of Rust Never Sleeps, which was a real treat. Also did an awesome electric Ohio. Seeing him solo is well worth the price of admission.

Definitely a little disappointed, but Thrasher made up for it.

I saw Neil Young play with Pearl Jam at a vote for change show in 2004. Neil played a few on his own (including Needle and the Damage Done) and played Rockin in the Free World and Harvest Moon with Pearl Jam. Great show.

Sidenote: Tim Robbins opened. That part was not so great.

Awesome. :thumb:

Neil isn't my cup o' tea, but I do know that feeling of seeing a favorite artist at the top of their game. Breathe that in as deep as you can, because it's magical and it is something you'll be remembering twenty years from now.

If you mean Andy Dufresne..... he played hockey with the group of movie types and ex-NHLers that had the ice before my beer league games on Sundays at the rink in Torrance. Him, Cuba Gooding Jr, Jerry Bruckheimer (who was the ringleader), Chris Chelios, Richard Park, Nik Andropov. Such a hoot.

Yup, I mean good old Norville Barnes. I'm sure he's a nice guy but man his music is bad.

Yup...he is the first artist that has gotten to me on *that* level. And I've listened to a butt-ton of music over the years.

I'm guessing somewhere around the middle of the set, most fans keyed in to the reverse chronological order of the thing. So when they finished with that run of tunes from Foo 1, you'd be like, "Welp, they're out of songs". And then........ I'm somewhat surprised they didn't throw in a Scream song for shits and giggles.

The encore set was Grohl on drums, Pat Smear on geetar, and Krist Novoselic on bass. John McCauley (Deer Ticks) sang the first three songs, Joan Jett sang the other three.

This was also the first Foo show without a cover song in like ten years. I mean.... 'cover'...... you get my point.
