More Neil Young news: Ragged Glory II - and expanded remastered version of the 1990 classic with Crazy Horse - is coming out sometime next year.
Easily one of my favorite Young albums.

Ragged Glory is a great album. Just awesome garage rock. Country Home and Fckin Up are two of my favorites. Love Mansion on the Hill too.More Neil Young news: Ragged Glory II - and expanded remastered version of the 1990 classic with Crazy Horse - is coming out sometime next year.

I'm friends with Ralph Molina (Crazy Horse drummer) on Facebook. He actually interacts a lot and always responds when I reach out to say hey or ask him a question.

Lil Jon and The Kool-Aid Man (not an alias, but the actual Kool-Aid Man) dropped a Christmas track today. Yeah.

Random Abbey Road Beatles thoughts:
1) "Come Together " is the worst Beatles song.
2) "Abbey Road", while uneven as an album (for obvious reasons) has some of my favorite Beatles songs.
2b) "Her Majesty" is probably my favorite piece of music the Beatles did (since it is only 26 seconds, not really a song).
3) "Octopus's Garden" is the most "Beatles" song ever written.
4) Ringo's drums and Paul's bass guitar hold the whole album together.
5) The ending nine ditties, starting with "You Never Give Me Your Money" is my favorite series of songs on any Beatles album.

The reason I say that about Octopus Garden is that it has a wonderful Melody and also has a on the surface zany lyric but if you take a moment and really listen and pay attention it has an important and deep meaning.

Hm, yes, I see. Good point.
Music Thread
The deeper meaning of the lyrics is so subliminal, in fact, that it went completely unknown to the songwriter. That's super meta.

Ministry performed Everyday Is Halloween for the first time in 32 years this week and did not attempt to make it
into a thrash metal version. Surprisingly, he did an acoustic version of it.

I just saw something called "Kane Brown" on the New Years Eve show. What the **** is this sht? He's actually called a "country music" artist? Damn it I'm becoming a bitter old man and for good reason.

Best part about inheriting your parents albums is discovering albums you'd never listened to before and enjoying them in the unique and best format, vinyl.

This is a great read about a song and the many ways it, and its author, and its genre, and certain groups of people, can be and have been and are still misread and misunderstood.

I can tell you this with absolute certainty: at the height of America's hysteria over sex drugs and rocknroll the drug and alcohol capital of the entertainment industry was Nashville. The wink and nod behind 'Nashville Cats' is how well those guys played and sang while maxed out on cocaine and hard liquor. This is a great read about a song and the many ways it, and its author, and its genre, and certain groups of people, can be and have been and are still misread and misunderstood.

For those that know a wider array of music than me (a low bar), I'd be curious as to your thoughts on this prompt to help me expand my (trivial) knowledge...
The prompt is: What's the biggest musical difference between back to back tracks on a single album in terms of, well, everything...style, influence, sound, whatever...?
What prompted the prompt...?
On "Some Girls", the Stones go back to back with...
"Lies" - a fast punk-influenced piece where you can't even attempt to understand Mick at the beginning...
and then go to a mock country piece "Far Away Eyes"
Your thoughts?
