I am OBSESSED with the Fountain soundtrack. I know everyone loves Lux Aeterna from Requiem For A Dream, and that's epic too, but something about this just gets to me. Most of the soundtrack is variations to the theme. All of them amazing.

The Fountain is a top 10 movie for me. I frequently listen to the soundtrack too, and I do think it is even better than Rfad. Death is the Road to Awe is probably my favorite.

Instrumentation aside, the GOT closing theme is (conceptually) a Birthday Party ripoff.

She kicks her leg the same way, when she's playing guitar.

Source of the post I just watched Montage of Heck, and I thought it was great until Courtney Love's appearance.
Yeah, she still ruins most things she's involved in.

I thought it was good overall. Maybe a bit on the long side. I liked the animation of his notebooks and the sequences of animated Kurt. Pretty cool way of putting old taped interviews to "work" in a documentary. The baby videos of Kurt made me sad though.

His death is one of those moments in my life that I remember exactly what I was doing when I heard about it. Still pisses me off 21 years later.

It is hard to believe how long it's been. It was 21 years between the Beatles Abbey Road and Nirvana Nevermind; Nevermind is coming up on its 24th anniversary.

The home videos where Kurt is practically emaciated with sores on his face were the worst.

That's one of those factoids like the Back To The Future thing; same number of years between 1985 and 1955 as between 1985 and 2015. :scared:

You mean the BTTF writers decided to go 30 years into the future for the sequel since they went 30 years into the past for the original? That's nuts. So creative.

I don't have anything positive to say about CL, but watching that helped to accept that was pretty much fated to burn away (independent of ever meeting her).

According to Iranian Lollipop Girl, the text reads:

"Family Medical Guide

Sexual Dysfunction in women and MEN (men is written with bigger font)"

That's far less entertaining than I was hoping....

My on again/off again girlfriend surprised me with Deftones/Incubus tix in Cincy.

A woman who loves Deftones, QOTSA, and Pearl Jam? She could be the one... ;)

It's sad that people recognize Thom Yorke, but not John Updike.

Foo Fighters, as alter-ego Chevy Metal, play surprise concert at California county fair

Taylor Hawkins has a side project called Chevy Metal, which is what was on the bill for the show. But it ended up being the Foos, sans Pat, playing covers ranging from "Summer of '69" to "Under Pressure" to "Let There Be Rock" to "My Sharona".

The fair where this took place is about a mile or two from Mrs Tif's office. :face:
