My mom used to bring home the Middleswarth buckets all the time when I was a kid and I never understood. Now I do.

The Middleswarth tub has been dead for probably 10 years now. They did start offering this:
3 lb. is a pile of chips. Not quite the same charm as the tub though.

So many sorry excuses for a chip clog the aisles of Altoona shops. The worst of which is Hartley's, but Middleswarth are nearly as bad a culprit since they take up the most space. Martin's, Dieffenbach, Gibbles ugh. Horrible. And it seems about all that can squeeze in next to them are Lays. Give me Utz, Herr's, Wise, Snyder's- all have variations that are excellent.

Hartley’s are best chips on this planet, Middleswarth second. They are good. A little vinegar zing and several other flavors.
