I seem to recall DocEmrick trying to sacrifice me to the solstice gods last year.

Does it count if the chicken is a virgin?

The difference between sunrise/sunset times even within the state of Pennsylvania is striking. For example, today in Philadelphia it was 8:32 PM. In Pittsburgh, 8:53 PM. In Erie, 8:59 PM (during the summer, days are longer the further north you go, and vice versa in the winter). Of course, the sun also rises 20 min earlier here than out yinz way, but who really cares about seeing the sun at 530 AM? Not this gentleman

That was one thing I didn't care for in punta Cana. It would be dark by 730 cause they're in the eastern time zone yet so far out to the west

I'll admit I was pretty surprised by the length of the evening here in WI. It's relatively flat and rather far north. The official sunset is 8:49pm tonight but it will be light enough to still see well as late as 10pm. And it's already full light when I leave for work at 6:30am.

The latest sunset (at least in the eastern time zone) around the summer solstice is probably Marquette, Michigan in the Upper Peninsula. Sets at 9:46 PM today, so twilight probably lasts until 11 PM or so.
