After hearing an advertisement running on KDKA, I placed an order from Anson Belt and Buckle (http://ansonbelt.com) for essentially three belts. Anson belts don't have holes. The back of the strap has notches in it that mate with the buckle in much the same way as a plastic zip-tie works. The belts are consequently highly adjustable and move in 1/4" increments. You insert the strap into the buckle and just push and click until it's as tight as you want. As a fat guy with a somewhat variable waist size, this level of adjustment is highly appreciated.

The buckles are separate from the straps and you can mix and match. The straps clamp into the buckles, and you can easily swap them out. I ordered a kit with two buckles (silver and gold) and three straps (black, brown, cordovan) for $99. I like the idea that if a strap wears out, you don't have to toss the whole thing—you just replace the worn strap. I've been wearing the silver/black combo today, and I really like it so far. I'll issue updates on the durability.

Googled Anson belts and saw the phrase 'belt technology', which made me chuckle.

Seriously, tho, they look cool. Will look into them.

That's a cool idea for belts. I might look into that myself.

After a couple weeks of using them, I'm loving the Anson belts. They're super easy to adjust, and I like the fact that they look like regular belts but adjust in 1/4" increments. I'm going to buy another kit with a couple of the "classic" buckles (which I think are more casual-looking than the "traditional" buckles) and some of the canvas straps for casual wear.

The only downside I can think of is that the belts, at 1-1/4" wide, are a little narrow for work belts. So if you need something to hang your tools from, or you work as a construction worker, or you want a belt for concealed carry, or you otherwise need a really-heavy-duty pants-keeper-upper, then the Ansons might be a little too skinny.

I've mentioned this on the other site, but if you need quality neckties at a reasonable price, look no further than The Tie Bar, http://www.thetiebar.com. They recently upped their prices on ties from $15 to $19 (they had been at $15 for many years), but at the same time they made standard shipping free. They have regular ties, bow ties, skinny ties, pocket squares, sock, cufflinks, and other accessories.

What is the general consensus on hats? I'd like to wear something to keep some of the sun off me when shooting outdoors in the summer. I never like how baseball caps fit me and am looking for other options. My typical shoot attire is a polo shirt and golf-type shorts.

I'd go with a broad-brimmed straw hat. It could have a fedora-style crown, like this:

Or a gambler-style crown like this:

Or this:

There are also straw hats with ventilated crowns for really hot weather, like this:

Picked up a sweet new pair of Magnanni Oxfords. Needed a burgundy shoe to try and match with a charcoal gray suit.

I don't always wear denim, but when I do, it's always cut short enough so the pockets hang out...

I'm not into Oxford's, but I love me some Magnanni. Their driving mocossains are the most comfortable shoes I've ever put on.

As long as they make these, I will continue to buy them as my go to dress shoes. Holding up well on year 3 of every day use and I have yet to find something more comfortable (besides crocs).

To be fair, it's a difficult process.

On a serious note - that is not very comforting. So far so good, but we'll see I guess.

Were you wearing them on your head?

My Dad was always a Florisheim guy.
