i've literally never heard of coat hangers being used for anything other than abortions, breaking into cars and craft projects for little kids. and hanging clothes, i suppose.

A 6" straight cut piece, with angled cuts on each end, makes for a good pipe cleaner. Or so I've been told.

Yeah, one wire coat hanger can clean a lifetime full of drains. To say “miss wire coat hangers” is a bit coo-coo

I’ve always assumed they are sewn together used garbage bagsHas anyone ever done the made to measure “custom” suits that are popping up?

Any reviews from the board with MTailor?
I am in 3 weddings this year and the shirts that come with tuxedo's always fit me like trash. So I'm thinking of getting a custom tailored shirt. Plain white button down pointy collar. I'm a big guy. 21" neck and 36/37 cuff. Usually finding something that has that long of a cuff means it's about 2 sizes too big elsewhere or won't stay tucked in.

You should be able to get an expert to measure you in person and make you a bespoke shirt for about $200. Not sure how much MTailor charges, but unless it’s less than half of that, I’d suggest just going to a brick and mortar place.

Quickest way to hem a new pair of pants? Never got to the tailor and I want to wear one of my new suits this weekend. Do not own a sewing machine.

Both parents and paternal grandparents can sew, hemming pants takes like no time at all. Just tell you need it right away, pay a little extra, and that's that...

Citizen earlier this year introduced a new quartz movement: the Eco-Drive Caliber 0100. It's not all that special to look at, because Citizen decided to keep the design plain and simple. The price seems drastically high for a quartz watch even given the high-end materials: nearly $17,000 for the white-gold version and around $7,500 for the titanium version. Why so expensive? Because it's the most accurate quartz watch movement ever constructed. Without relying on any external sources such as atomic radio signals, the Caliber 0100 will gain or lose no more than 1 second per year. That is roughly 100 times more precise than standard quartz movements, which are good to about +/- 15 seconds per month.

Just want to mention I went to Jack's Tuxedo and they outfitted me with the best looking 3 piece suit I've ever had on. Everything fits perfectly. Very happy and would recommend them to anyone.

BTW it's for a wedding, but my sister also wants the same one in hers, so instead of renting it twice I just bought it once.

Can someone define what summer cocktail attire is? Inquiring minds want to know
And would a gray sport coat be appropriate

I believe so for most circumstances...

I think it depends on the circumstances. The term "cocktail attire" is pretty vague, but it usually means a dark blue or gray suit and tie if the event is trying to be formal. The problem is that the phrase really can mean anything from "Wear a business suit that's only slightly less formal formal than a tux" to "Just dress up some, you slackers." It's closer to the former, then I'd go with a suit, tie, and dress shoes. For summer, I should think that instead of a dark business suit a light tan or light blue suit in a lightweight fabric would also work, especially if the event is outdoors. If it's closer to "Just dress up some," then I should think a sport coat and dress pants would be appropriate. I'd still wear a tie; you could always take the tie off if no one else is wearing one.

I’d wear tan pants, a blue blazer, no tie, no socks, loafers

I’d bet a nickel that “summer cocktail attire” certainly doesn’t include a tie.

Sounds like a bro tank and birddogs and no shoes to me

Meow nailed it though. I know regular cocktail attire is a gray or blue suit and tie. So I think the summer qualifier makes it a little more casual

We have a "summer cocktail attire" wedding to attend this weekend. I'm going with all linen - jacket, pants, shirt and tie - in a 4th of July color scheme.
