8k+? I changed my mind. I don’t need a watch.

Everyone needs a watch. Not everyone needs a $7,000 watch. Heck, I don't need a watch that expensive. But I wanted one, I had the money for it, and I figured that with inflation being what is is, it wasn't going to get any cheaper.

I've never been in a situation and wished I was wearing a watch.

Black tie optional wedding. What are the boys going with in this hypothetical?

Summer wedding? Anything outside?
Shoes, Clothes, and All Things Sartorial
July wedding. Not sure if anything is outside. I'd assume at least an outdoor cocktail hour at this country club if weather is nice

Black tie optional to me means suit and tie or tux.

I'd wear an elevated suit.
I'm going to a wedding later this month that I'd like to wear a less traditional colored suit to. What do ya'll like?

I'm a fan of purple, but I know that's hard to pull off and have it be the right shade of purple.

The suit might be junk (it's only $400 on sale for even less) but it also might work for a season

Shoes question...
I'm starting to travel to conferences more and more now that COVID has at least eased up a bit. The dress attire has largely become slacks/khakis and a button down dress shirt. Some wear ties, most don't. Some wear jackets, most don't. So that leads me to shoes.
Obviously dress shoes would work just fine, but I've yet to find a pair of dress shoes that are comfortable for walking all day. My conference trip usually result in 3 straight days of just about 20,000 steps a day. Anyone have suggestions that would work well with slacks, button down shirt, and potentially a fleece vest if it's cold in the conference center?

I've never bought any because I prefer dress shoes with traditional leather soles, but Florsheim makes a number of dress shoes under their "Comfortech" line that are constructed more like athletic shoes internally.

I've been wearing Florsheims for something like 20 years now, and they're my go-to dress shoe brand.
Also, I've never worn them, but I know Rockport also makes dress-looking shoes that are constructed like athletic shoes. I remember they used to run ads where people would run marathons wearing their dress shoes.

Ditto for my Garmin.Nice watch. I hate what my Apple Watch did to my watch collection.

20,000 steps is about 12 miles for me.

According to my watch, I’ve done 13k steps and that’s 6.7 miles. So if my math is correct, 20k is just over 10 miles for me.
