When you mentioned this in August I passed the link along to my wife. She saved it and got me a $100 gift card for my b-day. So now I'll pass the time in my cube selecting some pieces, should kill some time.Source of the post Accessories. I cannot recommend the ratcheting belts from Anson Belt & Buckle (https://ansonbelt.com/) highly enough.

Does anyone have strong opinions on a sunglasses manufacturer? I want to move on from Maui Jim because the lens on my last two have sort of spiderwebbed about a month after warranty ran out.

Ended up with:
1.25" Traditional Buckle in Antiqued Gold
1.25" Traditional Buckle in Gunmetal
1.25" Black Leather Strap
1.25" Chocolate Leather Strap
1.5" Traditional Buckle in Gunmetal
1.5" Black Leather Strap
Ended up getting the 3 strap 2 buckle gift box, then added an extra 1.25" buckle. Neat concept, hope it works out. Wouldn't mind doing this once a year and building up a decent selection.

For a long time I was a Ray-Ban guy. But my current set is three pair of Kenneth Coles (same design, three colors) that I picked up for like $20 total at Ross. I'm probably going to end up with some Oakleys at some point.Does anyone have strong opinions on a sunglasses manufacturer? I just bought a second Anson gift box as well. The box I bought last year was three 1.25″ dress leather straps (one each in brown, black, and cordovan) and two 1.25″ traditional buckles in silver and gold. I kept the silver buckle on the black strap and switched off the brown and cordovan straps on the gold buckle. I personally like silver hardware on black belts and gold hardware on brown-type belts. I just picked up a mixed-widths second box of two 1.5″ classic buckles (gunmetal and antiqued gold) two 1.5″ casual leather straps (black and brown) and another 1.25″ traditional gold buckle so that I no longer need to swap the buckle on the two dress straps. I haven't used the new 1.5″ casual straps much yet, but they're nice and sturdy and look good.Ended up getting the 3 strap 2 buckle gift box, then added an extra 1.25" buckle. I've been using the dress straps for more than a year now, and they're all holding up great. I was a little worried that the plastic ratchet teeth on the back of the straps might be a weak point and strip out, but they've held up great.

ive been sporting oakley holbrooks for the last 2.5 years. same pair. they are cheaper than the ray bans and come in a variety of colors/finishes. if you go to the outlet at grove city you can find them under 100Does anyone have strong opinions on a sunglasses manufacturer? Not sure if I asked here, but I got my Clarks yesterday and they're a nice enough shoe for the cost. I'd put them about 50% between my orthopedic insoles and my completely flat Sambas in terms of arch support. Really happy I can toss out the Sketchers I've been using for far too long for my casual black work shoe needs.

Went with a pair of Costas. My bass pro shop didn't have the lens color I wanted, but I found a frame so I'll be ordering them online. I couldn't find a pair of metal frames and glass lens with any other brand with the particular lens color I wanted.ive been sporting oakley holbrooks for the last 2.5 years. same pair. they are cheaper than the ray bans and come in a variety of colors/finishes. if you go to the outlet at grove city you can find them under 100Does anyone have strong opinions on a sunglasses manufacturer? I ended up getting this and I *think* it fits. It sits what I feel is high on my head, but the fold in the top of hat rests on the top of my head so it can't practically sit any lower, I think it's just the style.I have this hat (in brown, which no longer seems to be offered as a color), which I wear as a winter hat with my dress overcoat. It's a Bailey wool fedora made using their LiteFelt® material, which makes the felt both crush resistant and water resistant. The brim at 2-7/8" is on the wide side and helps keep rain and snow out of my face.

The Anson belts are awesome. I bought them for the interchangeability but that ratcheting buckle mechanism is a game changer, love it.

the keeper loop on my tie has a hole sewn in to it for a button?

That would force you to tie the tie to a certain length, no?

What do you mean by overcoat? Sportcoat/blazer, or like a trench coat?

I've never seen a button hole like that on a tie, but that's also my guess as to what it's for. As meow said, it would only work if the keeper pretty much lines up exactly with a button on the shirt.

Isn't the buttonhole for the dangly bit on a tie tack?
Shoes, Clothes, and All Things Sartorial
This online store sells that brand of ties, and the description for each tie says:
"XMI Platinum Collection ties have a unique button hole feature on the keeper to give you the option of buttoning to your dress shirt so the tie will stay in place."

That's dopey. I know the dangly bit on a tie tack is supposed to go into a buttonhole in your shirt, but why would you button your tie directly to your shirt without the slack afforded by the chain thingy?
