They do have options to sort the ties by matching suit colors. If you need some "business" ties, it's hard to go wrong with simple stripes or dots (a red tie with white dots was the quintessential '80s "power tie"). Something like 3/4 of my ties are striped. I own this one, for example: https://www.thetiebar.com/product/19018Yeah, I looked there this AM and did see some nice ties; just got a little overwhelming by the sheer volume of choices.

Sorta had you pegged as a "No Boundaries" tie guy.Kohl's has a real nice selection, and they are pretty cheap. I'm a sucker for the shirt/tie boxed sets

Yeah, I wouldn't call it character. Wearing one of those ties would look like bad taste threw up on your chest.
Damn, those things were ghastly.

this gentleman has purchased ties in the past on your recommendation. wore one to work on yesterday as a matter of fact.I can understand your hesitancy to buy online, but I repeat my recommendation for thetiebar.com. I own more than 20 of their ties and this point, and I'm very happy with all of them. IMO they are better quality than the ties I've bought in places like Macy's or Penney's, and they cost less.Best chain store to buy ties? I've looked at some websites, but feel more comfortable buying them in person.

Three month update. Still very comfy and in good shape. Idk what the heck you were doing with them.i refuse to wear j&m. ive had three pairs and they all fell apart (completely apart) within 6 months. i spoke with their customer service and they told me i 'wear shoes wrong'bought a pair of Johnston & Murphys a few weeks ago. So worth the extra 30-40 over the normal amount I spend

The tie bar is great. It's backed by Nordstrom now I believe and the selection is superior

I bought my groomsmen their ties there for $19 a pop. They are great. Excellent deal

Disappointing that you didn't use "they're" in your second sentence to complete the trifecta.

I'd prefer to wear suits, but our Director sticks to shirts and ties so it'd be odd to out dress my boss's boss who is 5 pay grades ahead of me.

Has anyone here ever ordered a custom suit online? Is it just asking for trouble to do so or are there decent options out there? I'm a short, fat guy and off the rack never works.

Any recommendations on "wrinkle free" shirts? I prefer no collar buttons.

Go to somewhere like Men's Wearhouse that has pretty much every size possible. Try them on, find your size, and then, yeah. I've had some friends order suits online and love them. Just check reviews and be smart about it. The other option is buy a suit from somewhere off the rack and get it tailored. It's not too expensive to get a suit tailored.Has anyone here ever ordered a custom suit online? Is it just asking for trouble to do so or are there decent options out there? My Magnannis need resoled. That's after about 18 months of pretty regular wear. Not great but not too bad. The shoes themselves are in great shape.

You may go there already, but I recommend Northway Shoes and Repair:

Shoes:
I'm looking for a pair of shoes that are casual and good for standing for long periods of time. I wear Sambas pretty much every single day, and it hasn't been an issue in the past because my work has been a lot of do something, go sit for a while, do something, go sit for a while, but recently I've been on my feet for hours at a time. I've had some soreness in my heal and up through to my knees. I'm guessing it's the shoes, so I'm wondering what yinz who stand for long periods of time for work and whatnot wear on your feet?

I love Brooks Brothers noniron dress shirts for women and have a ton of them. I understand the men's perform just as well, and they have a variety of cuts and collar styles. They're pricey, imo, and I don't know how frequently the men's shirts go on sale. But they hold up extremely well. I wash mine in the gentle cycle and dry them on low, and they turn out consistently great.EagleAny recommendations on "wrinkle free" shirts? I prefer no collar buttons.
