Comfy AF. Very light. I think they look good. I haven't ran in them but mine technically are called Wool Runners so I think they'd be fine. I have Brooks for running shoes

I’ll agree with the Roo. I’m a Brooks man, but if you have fat feet, I’m not sure how comfy they would be

A combo of getting old, becoming a dad, and actually exercising. It was time. I haven’t worn a pair of sambas in a few years.c2i giving up on Sambas is the saddest thing since 2019.

For probably 15 years now, I buy sneakers. Tie them once. Then they’re slip ons until they get thrown out. I don’t run…ever. There’s no downside. Only upside.
Yet society frowns.

Maybe not so much for running, but I've owned many pairs of the New Balance 706 "postal" walking shoes, which are approved by the Postal Service. Very nice walking shoes, and they look decent enough for business-casual situations. I also like the New Balance 928 shoes, which come in more colors (the postals are black only). As with all New Balances, they come in multiple widths. New Balance does sell plenty of running shoes as well, but I've never really bought any of those.

New Balance for days. You're an established dad now... Get some.Alright yinz.... what's a good everyday, around the house, walking, running at the park, shoe? I have a pair of skechers that I wear for work. Very comfy and have lasted over two years of pretty much every day wear. Starting get ratty now, so I'm looking to replace them, but I also need a pair of everyday shoes. I had a pair of adidas that I liked, but they're not lasting as long as I'd like and there's a big chunk of the foam heal type thing that fell out.
I am not a stylish man. I care about comfort and durability.
I actually bought the Men's 680v6 Cushioning Running Shoe (copied straight from Amazon because I can't find the URL) and they've been solid.

I'll second the New Balance rec. They've been my go-to sneakers for years.

I have a conference coming up, and the last conference that I went to the rooms were either warm or freezing. I'll need some sort of layer over my dress shirt that's easily removable for comfort. For this type of conference, a sport coat/jacket is too formal. An outdoor coat seems odd. Would a zip up fleece vest work? I'm thinking it will and it seemingly is "a thing"...

That would work. Or, if you want something a little more formal, you could go with something like this cardigan:

This is what quarter zips were made for

Yeah... the benefit of the full zip is ease of on/off. Don't get me wrong. I like quarter zips in environments where I'm not going from room to room, but for something like this, I like the full zip.

Checked a purchase off my bucket list. I promised myself years ago that I would one day own a Grand Seiko watch with the Spring Drive movement, and after a FedEx delivery, today is the day. Originally, I was going to buy once my mortgage was paid off (which I did in 2020), but since I needed to replace my furnace I decided to wait and buy this year as a gift to myself to celebrate the 20th anniversary of my graduating law school and passing the bar. This is the SBGA413 Shunbun model, which was introduced in 2019 as part of the "Four Seasons" collection of four watches, each of which represents a season. Shunbun is the spring equinox, and the dial, which is faintly pink, is designed to emulate the color and texture of Japan's beloved springtime cherry blossoms.

Nice watch. I hate what my Apple Watch did to my watch collection.

Great watch. I'm not a watch guy, I fidget with stuff too much which is why I rarely wear my wedding ring for fear of losing it. But I'd love to have one like that

Yeah. I’m an Apple Watch guy and don’t even own a fancy one. I think if I were to get one, I’d want a leather strap but similar to shysters watch face.

Grand Seiko's specialty is their dials, which generally have amazing attention to detail (not surprising for a Japanese company). There are models, for example, designed to evoke the waves on a lake in summer[1], the bark of the White Birch trees that grow near their design studio in Nagano Prefecture[2], and the ripples of ice on a frozen lake in winter[3]. It's clearly the niche they've decided to pursue against competitors like Rolex and Omega.
