Right. Shield Roman always got cheered. The rest was just a big FU to Vince because people weren't in the mood for another decade plus of the John Cena character spin off.

I don't think anyone ever hates the person themselves just the character and the way they are pushed by Vince. Roman never came across as a bad dude, just got put in a crap situation creatively in WWE.

I'm curious as to what version of his leukemia came back. I just hope they detected it early.

Well I'm not sure that's always the case. The term "X-Pac heat" comes to mind.

Yup...there are a lot of guys that just seem like turds IRL and the crowds just have absolutely no interest in ever seeing again.

I was speaking more of top guys. Either way point taken.

You trying to say X-Pac wasn't a top guy!? He's a two-time WWF European champion.

I'm guessing or at least hoping he was getting tested more frequently than others based on his history. I wouldn't see him being someone that previously having chemo, having it go into remission, and think "eh, I'm good." To me, something like that would always be on my mind.

On the brighter side of the Reigns story... It always amazes me how many wrestling fans responding to the tweets are from India. Like, there are a ton of them. Which makes sense given the population but I always forget how big of a following it has there.

A work buddy is convinced the Roman thing is a work... I don’t think I can associate with him anymore.

This isn't the Attitude Era. WWE wouldn't work a cancer angle. I don't think they'd do that even in the Attitude Era.

I've seen a few tweets suggesting it. But yeah, there's no way in 2018 that they would go that route.

working a Leukemia angle for WWE would be a new low... no way they do that now with all the bad press they would get for it.

Yeah they didn't even do that in the Attitude/Ruthless Aggression Era. Rape, domestic abuse, and necrophilia, sure, but not cancer.

Especially in October with all their Susan G. Komen stuff. And especially not right after this Saudia Arabia ordeal. They would be committing PR suicide.

Similar to other U.S.-based companies who plan to continue operations in Saudi Arabia, the Company has decided to uphold its contractual obligations to the General Sports Authority and stage the event.

Money > everything else.

By the way, this announcement comes literally minutes after the Saudis admitted the murder was intentional and premeditated.

I dont really think Vince gives a sht about the bad PR but then again I think of him having to start promoting the XFL soon and he'll def have to answer questions about this.

so does this mean he's going through with this show since it was already agreed upon, or does this mean he's saying that he is contracted to a 10 show package and plans on going through with the entire package since he's "contractually obligated"?

I wish I could say I was surprised about this news, but am I? Honestly, not really.

So what are the chances that any of the wrestlers speak up and say "nah, we're not going." I know Cena already said it, and I think Daniel Bryan said something similar.

I am not sure why people seem to think that the average wrestling fan gives a flying poo what is going on in Saudi Arabia or what happened to a Saudi national journalist in Saudi Arabia.

You're right. The average wrestling fan already hates this show because they won't see it live and the last month of TV has been dedicated to a glorified house show in front of the Saudi government. Oh, and Shawn Michaels is coming out of retirement for this.

Speaking of Shawn, as I went back through 1996 PPVs I was shocked at how odd his babyface run was. The dancing he'd do as a celebration for winning a match was downright disturbing. He'd literally pull down his pants to juuuuust above his dick, show his ass to the crowd, and hump the air. Oh, and the most disturbing part? He'd often bring in a member of the Kliq (aka a small child from ringside) to dance with him. 96 was a weird time.

Was this before or after their genocidal work in Yemen?
