I'm curious to see what kind of rating tonight gets. Controversy usually = $$$$ at least short term, so we shall see.

I'm really not looking forward to the worked shoot angle that's about to happen.

I think Punk should just be told to stay away, and come back when he's ready to come back and not be a clown. Strip him of the title, or have MJF win it some crap way or whatever.

Sounds like punk is legit injured and needs surgery anyways.

Not excusing his tirade of course, but wonder if the injury played into him going nuclear.

If he is going to miss significant time anyway, I guess that lets them kick the can down the road for awhile and see if cooler heads can prevail or not.

Don't see any way he can come back on TV though without eating a lot of **** on this... And not sure his ego will allow that. Not sure if that should happen either way tbh.

Guess we'll see what happens.

Hopefully he uses the injury as an excuse to retire for good. Even ignoring the backstage stuff, his matches and character in AEW are boring. Maybe the in-ring quality has simply improved a bunch since Punk left WWE, but his matches feel sloppy now.

I think Punks matches while at times a bit sloppy have been real good in AEW. His promo work also as always top notch. The MJF feud was top shelf stuff though obviously part of that is thanks to MJF.

He's never been the best technical wrestler ever when he was young but his storytelling during this last run I thought was as good as it's ever been.

He's also by far their biggest draw and needle mover.

I'm not even sure what my point is other that to retroactively call punks run bad in either the wrestling sense or money sense is a bit silly.

Now who knows what this aftermath will lead too, but he's made AEW a crap ton of money in the year he's been around.

Oh I’m not doubting he made AEW a ton of money and put new eyes on the product. And Punk has always been amazing on the stick. I do think that his age shows in the ring. His matches are slow and not nearly as crisp as others. His character is boring too. What exactly is his character? Every program has been about the grizzled vet who’s secretly a dick. What does the Punk character want exactly? What are his feuds about?

Was looking at the Dynamite card and saw something that is one of my least favorite wrestling tropes... The old non-title match to prove you deserve a title match, which approximately 99% of the time results in failure.

Doesn't help that I'm not a Penelope Ford fan, but even if it was someone I liked, I hate that stipulation with a passion.

I didn’t really get MJF’s promo. The whole sarcastic baby face thing didn’t land with me. Mox’s on the other hand was brilliant. That was a **** great baby face promo. He laid out what makes the belt great and in doing so got across why it hurt him so bad to lose and how he’ll do anything to climb that mountain again. Just perfect.
