To me, it doesn't make total sense for Joe to win the title and not be part of Adam Cole's group since Cole winning the championship from MJF would help explain the motivation to screw him over.
My guess is that Cole was originally intended to take the title from MJF, but the injury put an end to that.

As for whether or not there was any collaboration with Joe, I guess we'll have to see.

But realistically, no one else in Cole's group was worthy of winning the title, and with MJF's injuries piling up and months until the next ppv, they needed to pull the trigger now.

I'm just glad Jungle Boy was nowhere near this like some were predicting. I frankly don't care if we ever see him again. He sucks on the mic heel or face, and never really improved in the ring. If this were the territory days you'd send him away for a year to rehabilitate his image and work on his game. Alas.

Does anybody really want to see a 51-year-old roided out Rock vs Roman? The only silver lining is that it'll likely take place in Perth at Elimination Chamber so not only will I not see it, Cody will still get his Mania rematch.

I’m fine with it if it’s not at a mania and they don’t put the belt on him like Goldberg at EC 2016.

There is no way Rock can even go any more than like 7-10 minutes in a match right? I mean he's going to be blown up 3-5 minutes in. I get the spectacle of it, but the match just sounds awful.

I don't really care but just have to wonder how long they are really going to drag this thing out. Like they are so obsessed with Reigns hitting a certain number that they don't care who it hurts.

Hell, he was blown up after a short scuffle with Jinder last night. Not only can he not go, he's going to tear every muscle in his body if he tries to work his old style. Roid bodies aren't built for that.

The Rock has been around long enough that I no longer want to see him. It used to be exciting, now it seems pointless.

He could barely speak after the Jinder thing last night.

Dynamite card was looking pretty bleak other than Garcia-Swerve, but just saw that they added Darby VS Takeshita, that is going to slap.

Nice upgrade to the women's division with those 2 there. Not sure if Tony's booking will improve, but at least we're getting better wrestlers.

I get the whole brown note thing with Callis, but Takeshita really should have theme music, IMO.

That was incredible. Darby avoids death somehow again.

Basically the tagline for every Darby match. Great stuff though.

The match got Takeshita over as an absolute monster too. He needs to wrestle more.

Good question. I thought that title would be tied to the tourney not jsut another belt.. Makes no sense that they ahd to go through that big tourney and then defend the belt against a chumo a week later who beat 3 other chumps?

Not that I am against Hangman and Swerve continuing their (literal) blood feud, but I have to wonder where they can possibly go. You already had a death match with Swerve drinking Hangman's blood... Can't really have a standard match now.

Also, Swerve is almost certainly on track to be the AEW champion this year, so I can't see him losing... So does Hangman really need to lose a third match to Swerve?

I guess we'll see what happens...

Yeah I thought the same thing. Where else is there to go at this point after that deathmatch? I mean I'm sure they will have a great match or feud or whatever, but it's weird. Swerve should be going after the world title at this point.

That deathmatch should have put Swerve into a program with MJF as soon as it happened - or at the very least got him in the picture.

Them still doing the Cole/Devil thing even after the injury is what's throwing me off. They should have scrapped that - or picked Swerve to be the devil, so MJF could have lost it there - rather than Joe.
