I thought you were 45?
*sigh*

I am.
I shouldn't really say anything I'll likely be missing most of my hair at that point.

There was (well, is) a guy at PlayStation that looked sorta like him. He's one of the founding fathers of hackerdom and basically invented Chuck E. Cheese for Atari in the 1980s. He gave a cross-functional talk to the Legal team about the history of video games (since he was largely responsible for much of it), and he opened his remarks like, "If I hear 'George Lucas' I am walking out that door right now." So I gather he gets that a lot.

Funny dude, Jerry Jessop is his name.

Who would have thought a George Lucas look-a-like would be the least offensive part of a photo.

Fun little weekend of cooking ahead of me. Tonight I'm making black beans and rice with a blackened tilefish, pineapple/scallion/jalapeno salsa, and grilled asparagus.

Have some challah bread drying for french toast tomorrow morning. A buddy of mine is coming over with his girlfriend and I'm making breakfast. Making a bananas foster and a lemon blackberry compote for french toppings, served with some bacon.

Was at the farmers market this morning and grabbed a lamb shank that I'm going to braise and mash some potatoes, roast some carrots, and I got some rainbow chard to make up on the side.

Meal one... backed out of the blackening stuff and just seasoned it and pan fried it. Would have been alright with the blackening as well:

Exhibit A for why you do not use water to wash your cast iron:

I’ve used water for the ten years I’ve owned my cast iron. I do not use soap, and I oil it after each use. Am I doing it wrong?

I always use water as well. Just dry the **** off and it’s good as golden.

Ditto with washing with water with cast iron and never any issues as long as it's dried well. A quick wipe with Oil would take care of any issues like above as well.

Wife knows not to touch my cast iron, but I do rinse it with water, dry it, oil it and cook it off after each use.

Does your oven have a self cleaning cycle? I’ve seen how well that works.

It does, but I've never used it. How would that work in removing the rust?

Regular steel wool or soapy Brillo pads?

I never use soap on the cast iron.

The irony of this article is that it says Steel Wool, the video shows steel wool (and then some mild soap, not for me) but the accompanying article photos show a Brillo/SOS pad.

I don’t know how but it does, probably something about the polymerized seasoning burning off loosening the surface rust.
I also read somewhere you could use an electrolysis tank....there you go.
