No he has not. But he did say he had a stupendously delicious lengua taco at El Farolito on Saturday after the march, which is just down the street from MCF. So he has been near it again, at least.

Got a little tray of chicken liver mouse from Trader Joes. The packing said it contained aspec (sp)? I am guessing the layer of gel on the top that keeps it fresh is aspec? Is it just some kind of gelatin?

Aspic.

Yes, it's a meat gel.

Sous-vide beef cheeks over garlic-and-bacon mashed potatoes/cauliflower. I did the cheeks at 178°for about 14 hours in a sauce of mirepoix, garlic, and Brewery Ommegang Rosetta beer, which is a sour cherry Belgian Oud Bruin beer. I don't cook pretty, but it is tasty.

I love breakfast. Sweet, savory, sometimes both... it's all good stuff. My recent favorite is boiling and then cooling baby potatoes, cutting them into chunks and frying 'em up with bacon fat, then salt, pepper, chili powder, paprika, garlic powder, and italian seasoning. Today I added in some home smoked canadian bacon from a work friend and then topped it with a couple fried eggs. Sooooooooo good.

Anyways, breakfast food: It's awesome.

I call BS on the whisk wiper. You can clearly see that it is not 100% effective.
