First, Chris Young is no longer with the company. Not sure why, but he's out. (I'm guessing it was either a condition precedent of the Breville acquisition, or he just disagreed with the way they wanted to move forward and he separated after concluding the deal) I'm sad to see him go, as he's been a friend for several years. But what was really goofy was the launched a new annual subscription service called Season Pass. It is over and above Premium, but existing Premium members - who paid what was promised as a one-time fee for exclusive content - are not being grandfathered into SP or even given a discount. (Full disclosure: All of us moderators and admins at CookWithJoule have been comped membership in the new program, and we've been giving feedback on the new content for a few weeks) So now if you go to the old message board/forum on ChefSteps.com they are trying to get that community going again, and almost all of the posts in the last 24 hours are pissed off Premium members.
Never mind that Premium and Season Pass aren't really offering the same kind of thing, it kind of has a bait-and-switchy kind of feel for a lot of people.

Anyone tried to sous-vide meatloaf?

I have not. But since it uses minced meat I don't think it's one of those things that can be cooked very long and won't hold as well as other proteins. Hunch? Start at 1 hour per 2" of thickness and check core temp every 15 minutes from there until you get to your desired internal (anything from 148-160F, I reckon). I wouldn't hold it for more than 15-20 minutes at core. Textremely goes off in a hurry with mince, which is the main reason I don't do sous vide burgers very often.

Made this over the weekend:

Skipped the butter and used spicy brown mustard instead of the grainy dark mustard (it's what I had on hand), and it was delicious paired with some pork schnitzel and fried potatoes.
The next night we took the left over schnitzel, put it on potato rolls with arugula and a mustard garlic aioli that we got at trader joes... delicious.

They were delicious with some maple syrup and some sausages. I didn't have enough AP flour to make them, so mine were 1.5 cups AP and 0.5 cups whole wheat... still turned out great.

Just curious. What do yall feed your toddlers?
I feel like I'm not doing mine any favors with his diet. But he seems so picky. Only proteins he's a fan of are pork and sausages. I did get him on Turkey yesterday and he loves butternut squash, so that's a good thing.

My kids (3 and 5) can be fussy eaters at times. We always ask them to at least try something once, offering a reward if they do so. About half the time they end up liking it. I read somewhere that it can take 5 or more attempts at eating a new food before a child will learn to like it.Just curious. What do yall feed your toddlers?

Since our kids are pretty good with eating a variety of vegetables, I'll usually give them a break if there's a particular vegetable on the menu that I know they don't like. No need to make it any harder than it is.
I think both our kids had issues with eating proteins at first. Not so much that they didn't like them, but didn't prefer them. They'd eat their vegetables and carb/starch food first, then try to wiggle out of eating the protein. The 5 year old is over that now, but the 3 year old still does it. Something they grow out of I guess.

I hide the sh*t out of veggies... the carrot pancakes were for my daughter. She loves pancakes, hates vegetables, so I added carrots. She loves sausage, so I often get the chicken sausage that has spinach in it. Spinach is really easy to hid places. She also loves mac and cheese. I incorporate spinach into that as well. I've also made my mac and cheese sauce and just pour that all over cauliflower instead of noodles.
Like robbie said, sometimes it's just repitition. My daughter hated guac the first 7 or so times that we offered it to her and then boom, the 8th time she devoured it and now she loves it.

I had one kid who loved hummus. We used to sneak avocado in there as well.
But the big protein thing we used to do was make a turkey meatloaf with peas, carrots, and zucchini "hidden" in it. They loved it. Wouldn't touch it now though (at 11 and 13 lol).

Those veggie tots they sell in the frozen section are pretty baller. My kid likes those as well.

We just winged it. Baked it in a 9 x 5 loaf pan, with whatever veggies we had on hand. We'd slice it and freeze individual portions.

I got adventurous with my daughter early...she will be 6 this month and has an impressively wide palate. One of her favorite dishes I make her is the big pot of chili with sour cream, scallions, etc in it.Just curious. What do yall feed your toddlers?

The key, I think, is to feed them vegetables (all kinds) as early as possible. Normalize them as much as you can. She still loves asparagus, sugar snap peas, carrots, etc. She loved broccoli (steamed) when she was younger but not so much now; that said, she will eat it if she has to.
