Finally got my unlocked galaxy s9+ working after an hour at the Verizon store... Their in store software wouldn't activate the phone so he had to call into a service center or such where they were able to finally get it to activate. Huge PITA, but the guy at the store was pretty helpful so I can't complain.

Can someone recommend a glass screen protector for an S9 that doesn't completely ruin my touchscreen sensitivity (and yes I have it turned up). I'm a relatively fast typer and this otterbox one is slowing me way down

Could try a liquid screen protector.

If there are any fellow Galaxy S9 users out there who can't abide the retarded Bixby software, I recommend the app bxActions. It lets you re-map the button and what happens when you swipe to the bixby screen.

Sweet. I'm using a different launcher so the bixby screen isn't a thing, but I bump that stupid button all the time and have to cancel that ****.

You can turn bixby off altogether, but the button mapping sucks. u da man @kane thanks!

You can turn it off if you have a Samsung account.

I don't even know what mine is.

Has anyone switched to Xfinity mobile? I currently have Verizon with two phones and an upcoming Apple Watch, and it's about $140/mo. With Xfinity, it's looking like it would be about $70-$80/mo for the same thing. I have an Asus phone, though, which doesn't appear to be supported by them. I'm thinking that the savings would pay for a new phone in less than 6 months anyway.

Thoughts?

My in-laws made the switch. I am highly skeptical of the cheapness, and likely expect them to get massive overage fees.

Spectrum has been hammering us to switch to their service. I am skeptical as well.

I sent my Pixel XL to Gazelle to see what I could get for it. Now this phone hasn't left the Otterbox except for the occasional cleaning of the case. There is some minor screenburn near the notifications bar but nothing that would take away from viewing when the phone is active.

Gazelle's offer? $6.00. They claimed there was wearmarks on the back, pressure on the screen, and that I listed it as an Pixel instead of a Pixel XL.

There's no zero missing after the six. They said six ****ing dollars.

Verizon gave me 30$ when I traded in my OG PIxel (not XL) like a month ago. Phones depreciate quickly I guess. Mine was in a case the entire time as well.

I was quoted $60 last week and I expected to be dinged for the bit of screen burn. I didn't expect to be dinged for 90% of the value though.

If they would have said $30, I probably would have mumbled a bit and eventually hit accept. Beats having it sit in a desk drawer beside my S6 and Note2. They're basically trading my phone for a pint of Dogfish 60 Minute.

Are notification preferences app-level or device-level?

I have the same apps installed on multiple devices, so I get notifications from them across all installs. I would like to stop that, but still get notifications on my primary device. Is that a thing, or will I stop getting notifications altogether once I turn them off on the secondary devices?

I decided to pull the trigger and switch to Xfinity this week. They use Verizon towers, so my coverage is the same. I had to get a new phone, but I needed one anyway. Unless I'm missing something, this was a no-brainer.

My in-laws wanted to switch to Xfinity. On the outside, it seems like a good deal. It certainly hits that "what's the catch" price for me though.

Question: my daughter is getting a new iphone. Can I order it, just switch the SIM card, and then go through the set up process? I don’t want to have to go to a store to do it.

I can't speak directly to the iphone, but my experience with galaxies has been as long as they use the same type of sim card, you can plug and go.

However, when I jumped from the S5 to S9, I had to go to a store because they had switched to a nano sim card at some point.
