Managed to drop my Pixel 6 (with a case and screen protector) and the touchscreen stopped working. I can use the side buttons to restart the phone, but can't use fingerprint or enter a PIN. So strange, as it was a pretty short drop that my foot broke most of the impact. After an hour and a half of back and forth with Verizon, they are sending out a new one under warranty. Should be here tomorrow.
What's driving me crazy is I can't get into my Verizon account...because I need to get a text notification from my phone. Which doesn't work.
I wouldn't have considered myself phone addicted, but after 12+ years with a smartphone in my pocket or within reach, it's very strange and unsettling not having one. Not a great feeling tbh.

So it's just a Blackberry now?

I really liked my old Blackberry.

My digitizer went out in my Samsung S20 FE. My wife's been bugging me to upgrade her iPhone 11 also. It looks like I can get a $1000 trade in value guaranteed for her iPhone 11 towards a Galaxy S24 Ultra, making it $9 a month for 36mo. They're also running a promo of an iPhone 14 for $6 a month, same deal 36mo.
I've always been skeptical of monthly charges on these phones and bill credits, and in fact have almost always bought my phones outright. But these offers seem pretty decent, no? And obviously we both make our phones last for 3-4 years at a time.
Also, are those phones good? I really don't need the Ultra, but I don't think I want the S24 plus (it'd be free) because of the size.
My wife suggested perhaps the iPhone 15 pro for her, it's a bit pricey at $27 a month. But she wants it for photo quality with the kids, so I understand.
Edit to add this is all on ATT. Bill credits start in 2-3 cycles it says?

I look at it as a no interest loan. I preferred the 24 month payments, but the phones are much more expensive so 36 months is the way.
If you go with the 15, you'll need USB-C chargers for everything. It obviously comes with a cable, but if you are like most people and have multiple cords/cables (car etc.) then factor that into the upgrade. It's about time Apple got their **** together and moved to USB-C. My Pixels have had them since at least the 3.

Good point. Maybe a way to convince her the 14 is good enough of an upgrade from her current 11. I am stealing her phone to get a higher trade in credit on the Samsung equivalent of an iPhone 15 Pro Max though lol
