I smoke a few cigars a year. I'm lucky in that my wife is happy to smoke with me so as long as it's not in the house or her car she's perfectly cool with it. The house we bought has a gazebo in the backyard. It's fully screened and powered, even has a ceiling fan. I have a feeling I'm going to spend a lot of time in there and turn it into a smoke hut.
My wife bought me a nice cigar lighter but for whatever reason I can't get the damn thing working. It just doesn't light and the shop she bought it in is back in NC. I feel bad she spent the money and it doesn't work.

Most of the high end torch lighter companies will replace it free at any tobacconist (who carries their stuff obviously) . You just have to ask. However the polite thing to do is buy a couple sticks while you're there.I smoke a few cigars a year. I don't smoke anything, but always wondered the difference between cigars and cigarettes. I assume cigars have less crap in them and less nicotine as cigar smokers aren't addicted. Or don't seem to be, at least. Is it a similar "high"?

Nah, you don't inhale, you just roll the smoke around on your tongue and in your mouth.
There is the mouth cancer risk as Carlin points out. So obviously it's still a risky behavior. Plus most people don't want to be around you when you're smoking. Although I had one gf who loved it and always bought me $30 sticks because she said it reminded her of growing up.

Smoking itself the activity is very relaxing, it's almost like a form of meditation

I've heard pipe smoking is the worst form of smoked tobacco, in terms of being a health concern. Not sure why.

Episode 2: MIMH's first bong rip.
dodint: I think it's because the tar builds up on the end of the pipe, which is always on the same spot on the lip.

I'm always suspicious of people, who have never hit the cannabis corner.

A funny side note: I didn't drink until I was 21 (that doesn't sound bad, but like 99% of all my friends between 15-20 drank so it was a big deal) because I felt some sort of pity I guess to those who did.Episode 2: MIMH's first bongrip.
I came around on alcohol but I'll never smoke, especially pot. I know this is a ridiculous reason but two of my best friends from high school's lives were ruined (I mean jail time for both. I think one dabbled in heroin) and it started when they smoked pot.
I know the whole "its their, not pot's fault" thing but I don't really care.
Add in the whole "smoking reminds me of my step mom who I hate with a burning passion of a thousand suns" and that's a nice combo
Also, I'm way too proud at this point to change my mind

Pot isn't amazing but it definitely isn't evil
Also, MIMH when we're roommates I'm gonna host a hooka party and you're gonna smoke some

That post is the closest we've ever come to having something in common.
Except for the step-mom part. Mine is pretty cool.

Too late already saw your post.*
I agree with what you said but like I mentioned, I know my reasoning is illogical.
I can't compartmentalize this and I'm fine with that.

My Dad (72 this year) has smoked Borkum Riff pipe tobacco for the longest time, although he's definitely cut back at this stage in his life. The smell of that tobacco smoke is one of the fondest smells I'll ever have, it's such a pleasant aroma.I've heard pipe smoking is the worst form of smoked tobacco, in terms of being a health concern. The smell of Marlboro lights makes me want to flick the cig out of someones mouth and stomp on it
