Let’s be honest no one here is disagreeing with the pivot from Kenneth Shane Pickett. The Steelers had a levers to pull and they pulled them

The real issue is we don't seem to have a vision at the QB position moving forward. We brought in stop gaps to keep the team above 0.5 for a year, but this team still has a lot of holes to plug in this upcoming draft. I'd much rather have a season below 0.5, so we could actually address the most important position in the NFL. Having a bad season isn't the end of the world when you aren't winning a championship anytime soon. It's much easier to trade up from pick 12 than pick 22 to grab a potential game changer at the most important position.
Again, what should their vision be for the QB position??? No one seems to answer that one directly. Just say 'sign or play the worst QB you can find so you can finish 3-14 and have a top 5 pick and hope the second or third best QB in that draft is a franchise QB.' That's a helluva vision. I'm sure the leaders on your team...Heyward, TJ, and Minkah...will totally be on board with that. :face:

And I'd say they have 2 major holes to fill. C and WR2. Both can be addressed in the draft, but they still have some cap space. Throw CB2 in there if you want. This might be the least amount of holes they've had in a decent while. Their D is loaded. Their O looks better than last year. Their punter looks like Bill Burr. Things are pretty good right now. Enjoy it.

Oh, get a franchise QB? Just get a franchise QB? Why don’t I strap on my franchise QB helmet and squeeze down into a franchise QB canon and fire off into franchise QB land where franchise QBs grow on franchise QBees?!?!

I'm just having a hard time understanding the concern when the alternative was the status quo. We have a SB winning QB that had a solid season last year and an enigma that will probably not pan out (but is explosive) for $4.5 million in today's league.

Watching the Steelers has been a chore for a decade. I'm actually excited to see what happens now, good or bad.

Was this how it was in the 80s after Bradshaw retired too?

They passed on Marino for a DT that played six games before getting paralyzed in a car accident.

So the organization as a whole passed on Marino and took KSP. 0/2 with Pitt QBs, there.

Oh yeah, he's signed too. So he can be slated at #3. Boyd or Williams #2. Draft pick can compete for 4. And will, I'm sure. The steelers have a knack for WRs

Look at the names that started in the 20+ yrs between Bradshaw and Ben; my memory features more Cliff Stoudt than it should. Some franchises never get that second guy.

Same.

He had one decent season in 2021 (802 yards, 6 TDs), but not much else beyond that.
