GTFO Dropsy. Love it.
Dropsy, more often called edema, is the increase of interstitial fluid in any organ.

Sure. Sure sure. And half of drafted players will play in the NFL at some point, but only about a 1/3 or so make their draft team's opening day roster as a rookie. Nothing's guaranteed. But the Steelers have had some recent success at this one position, and so I bid fair winds and following seas to Mr Diontae without weight of heart.
Glad he's gone, but now our #2 WR is Calvin Austin? Banking on a drafted WR to fill in is just silly. Despite their success, they still aren't perfect at drafting WRs. I assume they'll make a FA play...
There are a couple of 2nd round guys that could easily step in and play opposite Pickens (McConkey and Roman Wilson). And if there's one position where I would be the most confident that the Steelers know how to draft for it's WR. Has any team been more successful at drafting WR the last 15 years?

Johnson was also huge dadhole in the locker room, surprised tidbit isn't being included with the commentary on that trade. Insiders were maybe willing to keep that on the down low while the Steelers worked on the trade (tin foil hat). On that QB school video, the dude made a pretty emphatic point about how DJ doesn't have friends on the team, because those types of antics he displayed are just so over the top, just being a normal teammate would prevent such abhorrent on-field behavior. And a friend that works for the team (not football ops), has been pretty clear all offseason that the DJ trade was going to happen due to being a locker room PITA.

Johnson is good, he's just not good enough to warrant any level of accommodation for being a dodint.

Shaping up to be a solid offseason so far. I want them to nab Boyd because he's actually a Pittsburgh guy that's produced.

Still need a center though.

It would be nice, but I don’t see him falling to them.

He will 100% be available when they pick unless a lot of trade shenanigans occur. A center being taken top 20 is a rare occurrence and when it happens it hasn't been higher than 18th in over 20 years. No one in the immediate vicinity of the Steelers pick is prioritizing Center over other needs.

I just saw a mock where the rams took him at 19. After spending 100mm on guards, that would be absurd.

I also understand that the Steelers like Frazier (2nd round).

I wonder if they trade down to get an additional 2nd round pick?

Rams taking JP-J would be incredibly dumb of them given their current OL.

Tomlin and Khan didn’t go to Oregon’s pro day. They are currently at Georgias pro day

Going by their history, they never use a 1st rounder on someone they don’t attend the pro day. So reading the tea leaves, they seem to be targeting tackle (Amarius Mims) vs center (jpj) in the first round. They also could be monitoring Van Pran who is considered the third or fourth best center prospect coming out this year. High floor, lower ceiling compared to Frazier and JPJ it seems

Fine by me. Tackle upgrades are harder to replace than centers, imo.

Wouldn’t be surprised if it’s Georgia tackle, receiver, and a possible trade up for Georgia center in the third round

Don't think Mims will be there at 20.

It'll be an interesting draft, to say the least. Not a ton of holes, but lots of different directions they can go. If they sign a FA WR, I think they definitely go JPJ or best available remaining OT...but, I mean, they could also shock everyone and sign Connor Williams as a FA C.

If they're spending to the cap, which you'd expect, there is most likely another pretty big signing coming. Williams is only 26, and he's a + run blocker. Might also explain why they aren't at JPJ's pro day, which seems a bit sus. You'd think they'd give him a look considering he's considered a plug-n-play draft pick at your current biggest hole to fill.

I dunno. I'm kinda stumped this year. And yet, this is as confident as I think I've ever been that they'll pull something crazy good off. Like Queen.

We said the same thing last offseason. At some point, Kahn has to realize this team’s limitation may not be the players, but the coach

Look at how quickly other teams have reforged their O-lines in relatively short order. I think the Rams sort of did it over a few weeks. This is like year 5 or 6 for PIT....
