Apparently, most middle aged men think about the Roman Empire daily. There's video after video of wives asking their husbands "how often do you think about the Roman Empire?" and like all of them say "Oh, daily..." or "Multiple times a day". It's weird.dafuq is going on in here?

If I ever think of it, it's in the context of how the U.S. is collapsing like the Roman Empire.

Okay... I'm really glad that others are just as confused as I am and it's likely all just a skit or something. I don't think there's any innuendo behind it, but maybe.I don't go on TikTok, so I can't say yea/nay on that...but is it like a sexual innuendo that you're not aware of or something...? ****** not one person on the planet thinks about the Roman Empire ever...
I just wanted to make sure I wasn't some weirdo who was never thinking about it while it's on the brain of other men all the time.
How often do you think about the Roman Empire?
I'd say monthly. But I have a history degree and it's tough to look at anything in the past that the Roman Empire hasn't had an influence on. See: Cunk on Earth.

maybe once a month because of how influential it was. it's kind of cheating because the Holy Roman Empire counts so that extends it until the early 19th century

How often do you think about the Roman Empire?
I'm a history nut and Italian so I think about it probably more often than most people. I also recently watched Brittania, which was set during the Roman conquest of Great Britain. So after some Google searches concerning the show, Roman history articles have flooded my timeline, and I find myself reading a couple articles each day about it. Prior to that though, there were times where I went months without thinking about it.

Daily sounds about right.
How often do you think about the Roman Empire?
I think I only think about it for a fleeting moment if I see a reddit post about it, but otherwise no
How often do you think about the Roman Empire?
I change my vote to daily. Every episode of Ridiculousness uses Roman Numerals in the episode name. Thanks, Caesar.

I think we should also clarify what we mean by "think about". I think about months every day and the gregorian calendar stems from Roman influences. hell, a lot of our language does too. does that count as "thinking about the Roman empire"? it's probably too subjective to be useful and therefore this is a bad thread. sorry c2i

Is 'Roman Empire' a euphemism for something? If so...daily. If not...dufuq.

If you spread out multiple times a day to cover days I don't think about it I chose daily. Just because of reading books/ youtube/ podcasts on it or closely tangential to it over the last 10 years. So i didn't pick it for the Roman numerals or any calendar reasons.
I think it's commentary on middle aged men either going full history mode or car mode or BBQ mode. I've seen those memes
