I'd rank the reasons for the steelers offensive woes in the following order:

1. Good SF defense
2. Poor execution
3. Bad coaching

Execution
Coaching
Good defense

I think the San Fran offense was the killer. Steeler defense is good and they got rolled at home

Thought it’d still be closer.

I’m kind of ready to hop off the Kenny hype train. He’s had 3-4 good series in more than half a seasons worth of games. Mega alarming.

Offensive line is bad.

Defense makes too much money to do nothing, save for Watt.

All that being said, it’s game 1. A highly unpredictable game, but there’s signs it’s gonna be a rough year.

Weird that I still don’t know about Purdy? He torched Steelers at mid field in first half, but he wasn’t as good in the second with Steelers adjustment.

Also don’t know if they took their foot off the gas.

I wouldn't read anything either way into Purdy's performance. He stayed over his skis, and, sadly, that was adequate on this day.

It's always going to be a game of what if. But they should have prepared the year prior, or brought Ben back again (all signs pointed to him wanting to play in 2022) and got one this year, if you want to say they reached for him in the first. Ironically enough the only 2022 QB with a remotely successful rookie year was Purdy. I don't think I'm ready to call him a bust yet but the draft position vs his resume isn't great.

Kenny was terrible today. Canada's system is garbage, but Kenny looked rattled and frequently off the mark. The entire offense looked like they've never even met each other and completely lacked the cohesion they showed in the preseason. He's also all of 13 starts into his NFL career and managed to have significantly better stats today than the highest paid player in the league. Sometimes guys just play like ****. This entire offense would benefit from Canada being fired, but improvement and consistency still needs to be shown within the garbage they're asked to run.

Re Kenny, yes I'm dogpiling today, because he played more like Wk4 2022 KSP than expected. Sloppy, indecisive, etc. But it's not anywhere close to give-up-on-the-guy time yet. Good grief, they're not the Browns.
