Buffalo or KC, right? Not sure it will matter with Watt out. But I’ll be happy to watch a Steeler playoff game regardless

Getting boatraced in the playoffs is better than no playoffs.

Yeah I’m rooting for Buffalo if for no other reason than I already watched the Steelers get obliterated by the Chiefs in a wild card game.

If the Bills win the Steelers are the 7th seed. A playoff position that didn't even exist a few years ago. One more asterisk for Tomlin.

Obviously a ways out, but weather in Buff for Sunday looks like a high of 23 with 20-30mph winds and at least a chance of snow. I'd be optimistic that we could ride Harris and Warren all day to a win except we all know Josh Allen's legs are the most dangerous weapon on the field.

I like Warren a lot but he'd have 7 fumbles on those conditions.

For the steelers to win they need Allen to do what he did last night and then convert on those stupid turnovers.

If the Steelers win a playoff game, I'd consider it a major success and my "move on from Tomlin/Fire Tomlin" clock would reset back to zero.

Surely if the Steelers win the Superb Owl as a 7 seed, those complaining about the existence of the 7 seed will no doubt see the achievement as tainted and unworthy, carrying a giant asterisk there, too.

In much the same way they must surely not regard the win in SB XL as legitimate and a demerit to coaching records, because 2005 had six playoff participants when previous championship runs featured post-season tournaments with only four teams. Esp considering the Steelers won XL as a 6 seed, a playoff position that didn't even exist a few years prior.

The context was comparing coaching legacies. It's fair to point out that double-digit winning seasons are discounted when you get extra games, and playoff appearances are discounted when there are more playoff spots.

Noll had a 14-game season until 1978, of course he has fewer 10-win seasons than the guy benefitting from 16 and 17-game seasons.

So just to be clear, SB XL doesn't count the same as SB X then, since that team made the show on the back of two extra regular season games to qualify for one of two previously non-existent seeds. Si?

Again, the context is coaching legacies. The complication of comparing across eras.

10 win seasons are cheaper now.
Playoff appearances are cheaper now.

10 wins was a big deal in 1976. That's a .714 win record. In 2024 that's .588.

If you continue to be unable to comprehend that I can't offer further assistance.
