RIP Sam Huff, HoF Washington linebacker and broadcaster. He and Sonny Jurgensen were entertaining as tag team color commentators on the radio, but their decline became obvious before they retired. He also played at WVU and the Giants.

Bob Bondurant, race-car driver and driving Instructor, at age 88. Bondurant was a sports-car and occasional F1 driver who won a class victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1964 and the FIA World Sportscar Championship in 1966. He helped save Jackie Stewart's life at the 1966 Belgian Grand Prix and served as the technical advisor for the movie Grand Prix. He went on to found a driving school that taught performance driving to more than 500,000 attendees and taught Hollywood stars from Paul Newman and Clint Eastwood to Nicolas Cage and Tom Cruise how to drive. RIP to one of the great old drivers.

One the true greats. The movie Grand Prix is kind of awful, but the racing footage is sublime, mostly because it's real.

My old neighbor in Encino was one of the guys who worked with Paul Newman during and after production of Winning. (He was often officially credited as a prop master and worked primarily with Mike Nichols during his career as sort of his Guy Friday for like 25 years.) In his capacity as 'driving instructor' he was part of a select group of people who got to taste test Newman's salad dressing when it was in developmental stages. He said the initial trials were difficult to consume because it tasted so bad.

Bondurant was always the racing school for me because of my age, but he led a full racing life for sure.

This is, by far, the best tribute to Norm and his relationship with Dave over the years. Great editing.

This understandably flew under the radar last week...but Lou Cutell passed away last week. You probably either remember him from the below, or of course, his turn as the ASSMAN on Seinfeld.

Wasn't he supposed to be on the ceremonial first tee this year but his health declined too quickly?
