This is probably the second best PD of all time and it’s getting no play.

Knew I put it in the wrong thread.

RIP to Cheers in Boston. Another closure due to COVID-19.

Edit: oops, this is the Cheers replica bar and not the original Cheers in Beacon Hill. The original Cheers will remain open.

Fun fact: Quiet Riot were sort of forced to cover Cum On Feel The Noize by their label at the time. No one in the band really liked Slade that much and they didn't want to do the song, preferring to do an album full or original material, so they decided they'd sort of phone in their performance with the hope that the label would tank the idea. First up in laying down the bed track was Banali on drums...... *bum*DA*bum-DA*bum*DA*bum-DA*.... and the other 3 guys in the band were like, "Well, s**t....."

And thus a hit single was born.

Didn't see this until now. I generally do not like PD but the history of the mall part was pretty funny.

It does bug the sht out of me when he "mispronounces" certain words that are a slam dunk. Like he said "steel" instead of "still." That's a no brainer if you are trying to make money off of talking like a yinzer. edit: it should also be more of mawl than mall.

I shared a stage with Quiet Riot back in 2005. Probably the highlight of my short lived and really non-existent music career.

I remember it (the band) was two words but for the life of me can't recall. Not sure why I think there is a month in there

Thank you. That was going to annoy me if I couldn't think of it.

Sorry to hear about the namesake.

Thanks but we never knew him. He was arrested trying to smuggle cocaine into the US from Canada about 6 months after we named the band lol

Terrible news. I've always loved Steve Earle and knew about his son's issues with substance abuse. What a waste... And a three year old daughter to boot.

Mark Sertich, the Guinness World Records’ oldest hockey player, died Monday from complications of a stroke at the age of 99.

Though known by the public for his age-defying time on skates, the Duluth native with the trademark handlebar mustache meant much more to his family.

“He was a really great dad,” Cynthia Flood, one of Sertich’s seven children, said Tuesday. “He spent so much time with all of us growing up, teaching us simple things. He always had time for us.

“He was a quiet, humble man who had wonderful qualities of self-sufficiency and independence, but mostly he loved his children.”

Sertich, who was still skating up until his 99th birthday in July, suffered a stroke Thursday and died at the same West Duluth home he was raised in surrounded by his family.
