Oh yeah, she was definite crush material in high school.

Preston and Travolta have a place in Ocala, FL, where my grandparents lived until Grandpa passed and Grandma had to move north. They own a place at the Jumbolair fly in community, which is where he kept his 707, not sure what he has now. You saw them out and about and it's no big deal. Grandma used to talk about how Travolta held the door for her at Panera once and what a nice polite young man he is. I was not aware she was ill.
This has to be their place:

The lighter gray road at the bottom is a taxi way out to the main runway, off to the left. I'm not sure I'd want a multimillion dollar home in the flight path or right on top of a runway. But to each their own.

It's funny to me that the other end of the runway from their house is a mobile home park.

You don’t realize the scale of that house until you realize that’s a full size jet sitting there.

I scrolled around and figured out that most of the other homes had stand along structures - hangars - that fit much smaller aircraft. Those two planes are big. One must be his 707.

Neither of those are a 707. They're both bizjets. A 707 would be much larger and have four wing-mounted engines. Those are both T-tail jets with rear-mounted engines. I believe one is his Challenger 601, and other other one might be a Gulfstream II, which I think Travolta has since sold.

There are some shots in here what it looked like when he still owned the 707:

I am straight up sad about Grant. A couple of my friends were friends of his, and they're sharing a lot of photos and memories right now.

2020 can go right ahead and die now.

I jumped ship on Mythbusters when they brought the three of them in as the b-team. But of those three, he was for sure the only likable one.

Wow that's awful. He seemed like such a genuine dude. He definitely wasn't a TV guy that they put on a science show, he was a science guy they put on a TV show. If that makes any sense...

Aneurysms are terrifying.

My AP Government teacher from high school lost his wife in her sleep when she was about 30. They have a son who at the time was *maybe* 1? Absolutely awful. He literally woke up just like any other day, turned to her, and realized she was dead. They are probably the only insta-cause of death that is scarier than heart attacks to me.

My dad had surgery for an abdominal aortic aneurysm about ten years ago, in his mid 60s. Knowing my family history, I tend to notice my abdominal aortic valve pumping much more so than others might.

Agree. This one hurts. I know he was friends with a lot of the old Collider/Schmoedown group. Kim Horcher posted a really beautiful, sad tribute to him on Twitter last night, including photos of a Zoom session they were on this past Friday. I haven't read up much on the details of everything but it sounds like it happened over the weekend and he passed yesterday.

Allow me to add myself to the aneurysms-are-terrifying chorus.

One of my uncles had a non-fatal aneurysm 20-ish years ago, and he's one of the small number of survivors that suffered no permanent neurological damage. So imagine hearing a lucid description of what experiencing that feels like from a first-hand perspective.
