He was great in so many things that it's probably silly that I think of him as the Judge in Roger Waters' The Wall: Live in Berlin when I hear his name.

RIP conspiracy theorist and perpetual presidential candidate Lyndon LaRouche, at age 96. Back when I was in college at Pitt, stacks of some sort of LaRouche newsletter/newspaper regularly appeared in the student union, and in those pre-smartphone days they were a way to kill time while waiting for your next class. I recall a lot of ranting and rambling about how the Rockefellers and Rothschilds were working with the British royal family to run the world. I assume the Queen whacked Mr. LaRouche personally.

He was an incredibly complex, bizarre man.

Most definitely crazy. I meant in terms of how all over the place his views were. He had a lot of influence on the crazies/conspiracy folks out there.

RIP Swiss actor Bruno Ganz. Perhaps most famous to younger audiences for his role as Hitler in Downfall (and the subsequent memes)

Sad news today. Pat Caddell was one of the smartest political minds I have ever met. Also, and more importantly, a decent man. He will be missed.

A belated RIP to Pedro Morales. He was the first Latino to hold the WWF championship and still holds the record as the longest Intercontinental champion.

RIP to artist Sam Bass. Bass' work is most well-known in the racing world, where he designed both Gordon's "Rainbow Warrior" famous paint scheme, as well as several schemes for Earnhardt, Stewart, etc. He also designed the cars/uniforms for Talladega Nights. He was NASCAR's first officially licensed artist. Died at 57 from sepsis/Type 1 diabetes.
