What a tremendously underrated musician.

Low hanging fruit, but only because it's awesome.

(Really good bit starts around 5:30 in)

Roy Clark is the greatest technical guitarist of his generation. Fight me.

What he does on the acoustic guitar on the Odd Couple is imbossibly difficult. His hand is moving so fast the frame rate of the camera cannot keep up.

I'll pick up that gauntlet.

He is not.

There. I said it.

My reaction, initially, was that everyone is the greatest at what they did once they pass. I anticipate the same praise for Clapton soon, in the way that it was the same praise for Prince.

I love Roy Clark but that is an insane take, lol. Check out Joe Satriani and Steve Vai. Joe is probably my favorite guitarist overall.

And it really isn't a bad take at all...

Freddy said "of his generation." He was 85...
So you're saying he was more a contemporary of Andres Segovia, Eliot Fisk, Django Reinhardt, Al Di Meola, Paco de Lucía, John McLaughlin...

Missed the "his generation" part. That is a very fair take albeit debatable. I stand corrected.

I didn't miss it and stand by my take.

Every football player an analyst looks at in the moment is the greatest at his position of all time. Every person that dies was the greatest at their discipline. It's a peeve of mine that I don't normally both bringing up, but Freddy wanted a fight.

My point is Freddy might not be wrong, but the continued hyperbolic praise of everyone all the time leaves it to ring hollow.

That is also a very fair take. You see it magnified on places like reddit because everyone is trying to cash in on that sweet, sweet death karma

Pretty much dodint's greatest take ever.

I'm ready to fight.

Roy Clark was a master on multiple instruments and is looked down upon because he was a "country" musician.

Jeff Beck said Clark was the best he'd been around in the way every time he played it was perfect, never a lost note.

On a side note (and it fits here, as they are both dead...) I loved "The Odd Couple". That was a funny show.

I don't want to sound like a sore loser, but when it's over, if I'm dead, kill him.
I was really rooting for you, Butch.

Well, thank you, Flatnose. That's what sustained me in my time of trouble.
Think ya used enough dynamite there, Butch?
We had dinner at the hotel. Etta had roast beef and I had chicken, and if I can remember what you had, I'll die a happy man.
I wasn't cheating.
Butch, you know that if it were my money, there is nobody that I would rather have steal it than you.
Boy, you know every time I see Hole-in-the-Wall again, it's like seeing it fresh for the first time. And every time that happens, I keep asking myself the same question: how could I be so damn stupid to keep coming back here?
I won't even bother to quote Princess Bride. You all already know them.

My original intent was to write "You all already know them... except for dodint", but I didn't want to seem like I was piling on.

Forget the myths the media created about the White House. The truth is, these aren't very bright guys, and things got out of hand.

I guess now would be a bad time to mention Sean "Puff Daddy, P. Diddy, Diddy, Swag, Brother Love" Combs' ex-wife, Kim Porter died at 47. Cardiac arrest after flu-like symptoms.
