I honestly can’t think of any non-singer female musicians from before the 80s
I know you're younger but come on man...

Heart
Fleetwood Mac
The Pretenders
The Runaways
Bonnie Raitt
Jonie Mitchell
Joan Jett

To name a few...

He sure was. In an industry that isn't exactly known for that. Would have loved to have had a chance to meet and talk to him.

He fought a courageous and very visible battle over the last couple years. It really sucks because he was in such good health mentally and physically into his late 70s.

I didn't want this one that was on my list to get checked off. I wonder when he taped his final show...or at least when that will air. And who now carries that mantle?

Yeah. He had no shame in putting a goofy accent on or ripping into a contestant if they say something corny in the interview portion

I’ve always wondered how good Trebek would be as a contestant on the show

This is the worst.

My sister was on Jeopardy a few years ago.

In reading MSNBC's obit, they had a blurb in there from the guy that won this past Thursday's episode. He talked about how he learned English by watching jeopardy with his grandfather when he was a youngster. This guy was the happiest I've ever seen a Jeopardy contestant after winning. He was bouncing around and practically crying when he knew that he got Final Jeopardy correct before they even revealed his answer. After reading his back story, it made perfect sense why his reaction was the way it was. I'm sure that there are numerous other stories out there from people who were able to learn a ton of things by watching Trebek every night.

His last day in the studio was October 29 and the last one to air will be on Christmas.
