Tom Benson, owner of the New Orleans Saints, has passed away. Was reading one of the obits about him and ran across this tidbit.
Benson's stratospheric climb was often haunted by tragedy. He outlived his first two wives, all three of his younger brothers and two of his three children.
Yikes.

170 firefighters have died because of the fumes near the WTC. That's unbelievable.

RIP Hershey

5/25/00 - 3/21/18

17 years and 10 months is a hell of a run for a dog, but doesn't make the tears less.

RIP Bozo the Clown. I still play the bucket and ping pong game with my kids today. He was a huge part of my childhood from visiting my Grandparents up north.

One of many to play him...Willard Scott also had a short stint as Bozo.

I remember my favorite game was the ball-tossing game where you had to get it in the six buckets, and with each bucket your prize got better. They had a version of that game at Chuck-E-Cheese when I was younger and I absolutely loved it.

What are we talking about here?

Larry Harmon was Bozo and he died like a decade ago.

He was a clown. But not this clown.

True story: In college, I met Robert Ressler, one of the FBI profilers who interviewed Gacy many many times over the years of his imprisonment. They had developed a close relationship (not a friendship, of course), and Ressler got to know him pretty well, in a p-shrink kind of way. Which is an uncomfortable spot when you're talking about a serial killer who killed close to three dozen teenage boys. Anyhoo, he told a story that about a year prior he was driving back to his hotel after interviewing this or or that psycho in a prison, and it was pretty late or even early am the next day, when his car just up and shut off. Like engine, electrics, everything. He had the car towed to the hotel, and after getting a few hours sleep when he was showing his cohort the car, the guy looked at the dash clock and was like, "Was that the time the car shut off?" Ressler said it was. Guy said, "That's the exact time Gacy was executed last night."

I didn't realize there were so many Bozos and it appears that the Bozo I know was Bob Bell Chicago Bozo, but there are so many I can't tell who was who and now my childhood memories are in question. I also remember his sidekick Cooky the Clown which I believe was part of the Bob Bell run
