oh, weird Coolio connection for me

my AIM username was “coolio” with some numbers appended. Not sure why I chose that, I guess I liked the name coolio. I use that same username pretty often now

also, Gangsta’s Paradise is a great song
hopefully Shyster sees this

Well, that all stems from an incident in the early 1980’s in which he was punched twice in the head by a student during a visit to a school.

Inoki responded by slapping him in the face, knocking him to the floor. The student, who was apparently a fan of his, then stood back up and bowed deeply to the wrestler, thanking him sincerely for the slap.

The curious encounter was caught on tape and became big news in Japan, leading to others asking to be slapped by Inoki, seeing it as a blessing that instills fighting courage.

RIP to Pennsylvania Supreme Court Chief Justice Max Baer, at age 74. Baer was a Pittsburgh native who graduated from Pitt in 1971 and Duquesne Law School in 1975. He was scheduled to retire later this year when his next birthday would mark the mandatory retirement age of 75.

Every time I spoke with him I called him "Your Honor."

CJ Baer's passing elevates Justice Debra Todd to Chief (the CJ in PA is simply the most-senior justice). Chief Justice Todd is the first woman chief justice in the 300-year history of the Court.

RIP Pitt alum Jim Sweeney.

He was a senior at my high school when I was a freshmen and he was HUGE even then and was a big part of why we won the title that year.

RIP comedian Judy Tenuta, at 72 of ovarian cancer. Damn she was freaking weird and funny. My friends and I listened to her “Buy This, Pigs!” Album over and over back in high school.

Eff cancer

Can’t believe she was 72. I legit thought she was maybe 5 years older than me.

Steelers Season

and

Tomlin’s Never Had a Losing Season Streak
Neither is dead but both are on life support at the moment.

I mean the Steelers could go 8-4 for the remainder of the season and... sorry, I can't even finish that sentence.

Bedknobs and Broomsticks was a favorite of mine when I was a wee lad. Murder, She Wrote was a staple in our house back in the day. Good, long productive life. That's all we can hope for.
