It was the last date for my ex-wife and I in 1989 at a pace on Smallman street in the strip district who's name escapes me at the moment. :)

We also had the DJ play "the Thrill is gone" as the last tune at our reception. We thought it is funny, some of the guests were appalled! :)

Nice! Eddie Money appropriately played us off for ours.

We saw BB probably 6 years ago at a park in Cleveland. He had slowed down but was still a heck of a show.

Saw B.B. King three times—two times at Station Square and once at Heinz Hall. Great show every time. He was a legend of blues and one of the most influential guitarists of all time. Truly a great loss.

and unfortunately adding another RIP for a friend of mine back home. No details yet, but my news feed is flooded with RIPs for him. Just one of those guys who never had a bad thing to say about anybody and never had a bad thing said about him.

edit: looks like he passed away in his sleep. I think he just turned 45, which is way too young.

Whitehouse.Gov has a great send off to BB:

I cross posted it in the song thread because it's just that good:

Nah. He's just announcing (first) that Garo Yepremian has died by pouring out bottles of champagne. A very '72 Dolphins tribute.

Some of my favorite lyrics of his.
Bought you a new Ford
You said I want a Cadillac
Bought you a ten do;\llar dinner
You said thanks for the snack
Let you stay in my penthouse
You called it a shack
Gave you 7 children
and now you want to give them back

RIP Adrian Robinson, who passed away this weekend at age 25.

Robinson briefly played for the Steelers and was traded away for Felix Jones in 2013.
