He was one of the guys me and my friends pretended to be when we were small kids (~first graders). Alongside Niki Lauda, Mario Andretti, Emerson Fittipaldi, Ronnie Petterson, Jody Scheckter (because he was driving the six-wheeler),....

Strangely the older I get, the less attention I pay to F1. I barely know who won was the overall champion in the last ~5 years...

Carlos Reutemann was before my time, but I certainly knew he was an accomplished and successful driver. I didn't know that he served multiple terms both as a regional governor in Argentina and as a national Senator. RIP to a man who succeeded in two careers.

It’s incredibly sad to me that the family of Mr. Wonderful needs to set up a Go Fund Me to help pay for funeral expenses. Wrestling uses people and disposes of them.

Saw Biz in concert once, showed up two hours late and played just a friend twice and left. What a memory.

Jackie Mason, last of the Borscht Belt comedians, has passed at 93.

https://nypost.com/2021/07/24/jackie-mason-dead-at-93/
The doctors and nurses attending to Mason, who had been hospitalized for two weeks and three days, wept when he died, Felder said.

“They were all fans of his. They were all crying,” he said. “He was like a shooting star that comes every 100 years.”

“I think the world has lost a very unique individual.”

Dale “Snort” Snodgrass. All-time high-time F-14 pilot (4,900 hrs), only aviator to be the type's demonstration pilot twice, 'inventor' of the Legacy Flight, and the officer most responsible for keeping the Tomcat relevant in the digital age. Killed in a private aircraft accident in Idaho over the weekend.

In any event Joey Jordison was a beast behind the kit.

as I said, I'm not huge into them. I couldn't name a single song by theirs before then. Now I can name like 3 (the aforementioned, Sulfur and Before I Forget lol)

Good video of Joey crushing two if slipknot's best songs. Spoiler since swearword in the song title lol.
Their Iowa album is one of the angriest albums ever by any band IMO. Self titled may be better by a nose overall but Iowa is just angry as **** and I love it for that reason.
