Like any profession, pros recognize good pros. All funny folks loved Norm.

Dammit. This is the first name in this thread I’ve had a reaction to. Dammit.

A comic's comic if there ever was one...I don't know if I have spent more time explaining Norm to others or laughing at him myself...I enjoyed doing both...

How do you explain him? I just tried to mrs meow and I failed miserably. And she doesn’t get why his stand up is so funny to me. Help

I'm not a huge fan of standup, but Norm MacDonald's delivery is one of the best I've ever seen.

Yeah, you either get Norm or you don’t. There’s no in between.

me: Did you hear Norm MacDonald passed away today?

Mrs. robbie: He was a comedian, right? That's too bad, hope he had a good life.

It could very well be a generational thing with my wife. She's 5 years younger, and Norm's career at SNL (which is where he was discovered by most) was over by the time she was old enough to enjoy it. Unless she went out of her way to find him, it's not like he's in every other movie like Sandler or Carrey.

Somebody posted on my BILs FB yesterday asking who Norm Macdonald was and my wife wanted to ask her if she lived under a rock.

how old are you?

I'm 30 and I'm very aware of Norm. his SNL years were before my time but I've seen him a lot in media regardless

He was a genie on the Fairly Odd Parents when my kids were young:

One of the most annoying kids shows on TV, and I refuse to let my daughter watch it if I'm in the room.

I said unless you go out of your way to find him. It's not like he's plastered everywhere or a mainstream comedian.

Yeah, that was the only show from my sister's time of watching children's shows that I actually liked watching...
