Also, missed it earlier in the week but RIP to Joe Smith, one of the most storied executives in the music industry. Guy ran Warner Bros, Elektra, and EMI-Capitol between the 70s and 90s.

Anyone old enough to remember the TV show “Alice?”

Philip McKeon who played Alice’s son Tommy has died at 55.

Actually, yeah, I remember it quite fondly. I was raised by a single mom who was a waitress in a family restaurant when I was little, and she sorta looked like Linda Lavin. The character Tommy was about ten years older than me when the show was on, but I related to him pretty strongly. RIP to Phillip.

Also, there was an episode where George Burns guest starred, and Vera thought he was actually god (because of the John Denver movie). And during the scene towards the end where he's trying to convince her he's not the almighty, he tells a (true) story about a vaudeville show he did at The Mishler Theater in Altoona, PA. So that was neat.

Aww man I really liked Aiello. He was great in Moonstruck too.

Also, while perusing his Wiki, TIL Estelle Parsons is still alive.

eddy - That scene was the first thing I thought about when I heard the news this morning. Such a poignant moment in an excellent film.

I've came close to putting it on in the last month or so, but I still have vivid memories of the nightmares I had the last time I watched it. I woke up in full sweat night terror yelling. Only other time that's happened for me was from Alien.

I think it's on Amazon prime. I just might have to watch it tonight.

Did you know there's a remake? It looks awful.
