Damn...Bud Moore was a frigging legend in NASCAR. Oh yeah, he fought at the Battle of the Bulge and Normandy too. What a life.

Since we live in the Charlotte area now we watch the Charlotte news and they had a big retrospective on Bud Moore tonight, it was pretty awesome.

How do you jack up a car when they’re parked that close?

RIP dude. I did a rewatch of a bunch of Andy Griffith earlier this year. Wonder if they'll mention him at the Indy 500 this year.

My grandparents loved to see his shows in Hawaii during the late 70’s.

One of my fondest memories is my first 500, and rushing to our seats as Jim sang. I still sing it everytime I cross the state line. His tenor and the event fused to be one of my dearest experiences of my childhood.

Damn...that sucks. Rest in peace Jim. I had no idea he had contracted HIV in the 90s

Stroker Ace is a terrible, guilty pleasure of mine every once in a blue moon...Nabors, like the rest of the cast, was terrible in it

I read in one of his obituaries yesterday that he had difficulty watching the opening or closing credits that showed him marching with real active duty marines, because a number of them died in Vietnam. :(

Evidently, they never mentioned the war at all on Gomer Pyle, USMC.

This sounds like something Robot Chicken would do, send Gomer into a dense jungle to get filled full of holes.

RIP August Ames

Prayers to her family.

And tif. Sorry for your loss, tif

Also, NSFW so don’t go googling her if you don’t know who she is.

I googled her on my phone. It just brought up articles about her suicide. She was young, only 23.

Her real name was Mercedes Grabowski? I mean, she was destined for this, right? Only adult film star I've ever seen go from having a stripper name to a rather mundane name.

That's a real shame re: Ames. I'm pretty sure I've....seen her before, but can't remember the exact time.

Ames had backed out of shooting a scene with a guy because he had done gay pr0n. Most female performers won't work with a guy who has done gay stuff (at least recently) because there are increased risks. She went on Twitter and said "Whichever (lady) performer is replacing me tomorrow for @EroticaXNew, you’re shooting with a guy who has shot gay porn, just to let cha know." Sparked kind of a backlash against her, as it was interpreted as homophobic, which it really isn't.

She was apparently also suffering from depression recently.

I would hope that backlash didn't push her over the edge, so to speak. Facts and statistics are not homophobic.

My friend who is tapped into such things at the more-than-user level believes she was cyber bullied into the suicide.
