This interview on Letterman, one of his many appearances, encapsulates Jerry Van Dyke perfectly. What a fun human.

I went on Wikipedia, and he was the only person in the cast that doesn't have a Wikipedia page.

RIP Fast Eddie Clarke
I was fully unaware of the Motorhead/Fastway connection.
The latter was bloody awful.

Jackson was great. Fitting that his final game was probably the greatest college football game ever. 89 years with (from what I can tell) no major health issues is a damn good run.

I would have guessed that was a country singer going by the name.

Keith Jackson passed away last night.
They don't and they won't make them like him again. ESPN just ran his obit and the wide array of sports he called was pretty amazing. He was the first MNF play-by-play guy, he called Reggie Jackson's 3 HR World Series game (if you can hear him over Cosell), he had Bruce Jenner's WR run at the 76 Olympics, believed to be the first to call a broadcast from the Soviet Union, and of course, all the amazing college football games that he was a part of. As a kid growing up in the 80s and then early 90s before the explosion of college football on TV, if Keith Jackson was on the call, you know your team was playing THE game of the week in the nation.

That dude was born to call southern college football games.

I'm hoping his hair plug addiction takes him well before then.

He does have an unusually broad scalp to cover though.

But...he's been honest about being a secret bald guy before though. I respect that from someone in entertainment.

Losing Dick Enberg and Keith Jackson is a lot of legendary to lose in a little amount of time...
