While that scene is funny, I much prefer "Jump In The Line" - that scene is funny too, with the football players.

In 1968 he guest-hosted "The Tonight Show" for a week
Calypso was the first album to move a million units.
For one week in 1968, late night host Johnny Carson made the historic decision to give up his job on The Tonight Show and allow actor and activist Harry Belafonte to take over.
At the time the country was facing historic protests over racial justice, continued involvement in the Vietnam War and a contentious election that eventually saw Richard Nixon win the White House.
A new documentary, The Sit-In: Harry Belafonte Hosts The Tonight Show directed by Yoruba Richen, takes a look at the week that introduced many Black figures to white audiences across the nation.
Calypso was the first album to move a million units.

Damn. Obviously I'm too young to remember him for what he did as an athlete, but loved listening to him be a super Panther homer during radio broadcasts of Pitt men's BB. That was the least of his accomplishments. Great baseball player but perhaps an even greater basketball player coming out of Duke. Seemed like a great person besides his sporting accomplishments as well.
RIP Dick

though I'm sure it would've happened anyway, I blame Springer for the decline in our society. "Shock TV" programs like his have ruined American television.damn, I randomly thought of him last week. kind of sad, he was pretty big in 00s pop cultureJerry Springer also passed away

There's a docu-series on Netflix called "The Dark Side of the 90s" that has an episode devoted to the topic of the rise and fall of tabloid talk shows like Springer and Jenny Jones, Maury Povich, et al; if you can get by the narration by Mark McGrath, it's an interesting show. But I think the real 'patient zero' here was Morton Downey Jr; he was the template for what followed, even if he himself never really had quite the same audience reach.though I'm sure it would've happened anyway, I blame Springer for the decline in our society. "Shock TV" programs like his have ruined American television.

RIP Stew Leonard Sr., founder of the great Stew Leonard's dairy grocery chain in Connecticut and suburban NY.
Skimmed about $17 million in a tax evasion scheme in the 90s. But man those stores are great.
