Jack Bogle, the founder of Vanguard and the "father" of index fund investing dead at 89...

He was a good man. Met him once years ago at a lecture.

Bogle was the GOAT
One of the best ways to illustrate Bogle's whole philosophy and customer-driven approach is his net worth. Despite the fact he founded the largest mutual fund company in the world, his net worth is "only" $80 million. It could have been much, much higher but he was the real deal when it comes to wanting to put money back in the hands of the investors.

Yes, and in the hands of other stakeholders.

He also stressed the importance of philanthropy and positive, profound societal impact. One of his major advocacy efforts involved educational advancement of girls.

RIP R&B singer James Ingram at age 66. Probably best known for this contribution to Quincy Jones' 1981 The Dude album, Somewhere Out There with Linda Ronstadt from An American Tale, and Yah mo B There, his collaboration with Michael McDonald.

Unknown, but I'd guess it was a mixture of too much booze, too much coke, and too much self-neglect.

From what I read, it sounds like he never recovered emotionally from his son's suicide in 2014.
