The Tragically Hip are the musical pride of Canada. The Barenaked Ladies were more popular in the US. (I like them both, BTW).It's funny you say that. "Gordon" was the debut album from the musical pride of Canada, the Barenaked Ladies.Dunno why, but I envision Gordon to be the most Canadian name ever.

The only thing I can associate with this song is when a local station was doing a "guess the correct lyric" contest with Limelight. The line was "living in a fisheye lens, beneath the camera eye".Limelight is a great song to gauge how tight a band really is. It's not super hard, not like some of their other repertoire. But it's got just enough goofy time changes to trip up the wayward.
No less than 30 people called up saying "living in a fish island...", which they were immediately cut off after the DJ laughed about it the first few times. One person got through the first part and then said "beneath the camera lie" or "beneath the camera line". He asks him to repeat it, and the caller starts getting irate saying "I've listened to this song for 20 years. I know how it goes."
I run into the office for like 15-20 minutes, drop off my invoices, put my time in for the week, mapped my drives for the following week (was field service in the early 2000s and we didn't have GPS or smartphones), came back to my car and they were still guessing the same damn lyric over and over. Now that I think of it, I don't remember hearing a caller guess the correct lyric.
