I am here with my CO detector unplugged and literally just sitting on my desk.... :face:

Every workplace has that person that seems to brighten the office up, just because that is their nature. What a shame.
Yes. And often, they would be the last people to recognize just how important they are.

So sorry, shaf.

Thanks guys. The memorial service is on Saturday and I'm definitely going to go. Grief counselors coming to the office on Monday. Geez.

RIP to one of my most beloved co-workers, Fran. She was a wonderful lady, and I talked to her all the time--she had a wicked sense of humor, and always came by my office to say hello every time she was in. I just saw her at our quarterly meeting a week and a half ago and we had a great conversation. We got the word yesterday morning that she had passed away unexpectedly--apparently, it was carbon monoxide poisoning in her house. I'm just devastated for her family--her husband passed a few years ago, and it's awful that it happened Christmas night. I will sincerely miss her, as she was one of my favorite people to work with on a daily basis.

Folks, if you don't have CO detectors, GET THEM. Preferably, the plug-in kind that have battery backup. One on each floor. It could happen to anyone.
My sincerest condolences shaf. Awful.

When we got our new A/C and heating unit the company which installed it put two CO detectors in. Said it was company policy.

RIP to the weed shed in my backyard today. Hadn't opened the door in almost two full years until the demo guy came by yesterday for the estimate. It was quite... pungent.

Sawyer seems like he would have been fun as hell to talk to. Didn't realize how old he was. RIP.

Legendary wrestling announcer “Mean” Gene Okerlund died at the age of 76, WWE announced Wednesday.

Okerlund was one of the more recognizable names in sports entertainment with his career spanning the American Wrestling Association, World Championship Wrestling and World Wrestling Entertainment.

Okerlund rose to prominence with his interviews with Jesse “The Body” Ventura, “Macho Man” Randy Savage and Hulk Hogan. He would conduct backstage and in-ring interviews as well as provide commentary at the broadcast announce table.

Ventura gave Okerlund the moniker “Mean Gene” though he was widely considered one of the friendliest people in the wrestling business.

It’s unclear how Okerlund died, but he had two kidney transplants in the past – one in 1995 and the other in 2004.

Bummer about Okerlund, was literally the very first thing that popped up on the Facebook today.

So is 'WWF' and anything related to it just verboten?

I don't really follow pro wrestling anymore, but when I was a kid it was called World Wrestling Federation. And that moniker was completely absent in Okerlund's bio.

Oh I see. World Wildlife Fund sued the WWF and beat them for the use of "WWF" in 2002. Since then, it's been "WWE." All future references and write-ups have to refer to them as such, however, since 2012 they are allowed to use WWF in historic footage. Prior to that all logos had to be blurred and any references to WWF were censored.

The comedy world has lost a truly legendary performer as Bob Einstein has passed away. The actor and writer best known for the character Super Dave Osborne — as well as his recurring role on Curb Your Enthusiasm — died at the age of 76.

According to Deadline, he died today (January 2) after a brief battle with cancer.

The brother of similarly respected comedian Albert Brooks, Einstein got his start as a writer on The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour. He went on to write for The Sonny and Cher Comedy Hour as well as the Dick Van Dyke series Van Dyke and Company.
