That's a damn shame about Krauthammer...one of the best intellectual conservative thinkers of the last half century. RIP.

I used to regularly watch/listen to Special Report on Fox News back when Britt Hume was the host, and Krauthammer was on the show-ending panel discussion just about every day. There are plenty of areas where I disagreed with him, but he always stuck me as a thoughtful, intelligent, and principled thinker and commentator, and I looked forward to hearing his thoughts. RIP.

To revisit XXXtencion, why do rappers get such a free pass when it comes to being utter monsters? That XXXtencion guy getting shot is a net positive for society. He tortured his pregnant baby mama, sexually assaulted her with a grill fork, beat a gay prisoner almost to death in prison, and the list goes on.

Yet, I see other rap stars, and even guys like Travis Barker, eulogizing him and lamenting how inspirational he was. That whole culture is fcked.

Actually, agree with that - a lot of the rappers were saying "HE WAS LEARNING FROM HIS MISTAKES, HE WAS POSITIVE" when that is or isn't true.

Fans were the saying the same thing as if they knew him. Just because you post an Instagram video saying you're trying hard - doesn't actually mean you're trying hard.

The fanbase surrounding guys like this or Chris Brown is like a cult of personality. It's one of the only industries where relentlessly abusing women and violent homophobia are considered positive attributes. Which isn't surprising sadly.

Shockingly, violence broke out at his memorial. Which is another thing I can't wrap my head around. Fights at memorials or a funeral service getting shot up.

When you're a rapper who tries to personify the gangster lifestyle, you're going to attract gang member fans. This is a total lack of surprise.

Maybe 10 years ago, but not now. If an NFL athlete bragged openly about beating someone for being gay, he would be out of the league in a heartbeat.

But if it's a woman you get a fat contract with the Cowboys.

Anthony Bourdain did not have narcotics in his body when he died this month, a French judicial official said.

Mr. Bourdain, a New York chef, author and television correspondent whose death shook fans across the world, was found dead on June 8 in a hotel bathroom in Kaysersberg, a small village in the Alsace region of France.

Police at the time ruled his death a suicide by hanging. From an investigative standpoint, the only question left was whether he had any substances in his body.

There were none, save for the trace of a nonnarcotic medicine in a therapeutic dose, Christian de Rocquigny, the local prosecutor in charge of the investigation, said in a text message to The New York Times.

I just found out that yet another high school friend passed away. We've lost several members of our class due to opiate addiction...Oxys and what not were huge when I was in school. He had a big problem with it...I don't know the cause of death yet but at 35 and with his history I'm afraid that it's not really a big leap to make that assumption. He was a father and husband too, and had been in the Corps for several years. Sucks.

Vinnie Paul was rightly recognized as one of the fan-friendliest dudes in rock. Helluva drummer and producer. RIP

Was shocked/sickened when I saw the post on FB about Vinnie Paul. Damn shame to see both he and his brother taken way before their time.

RIP to that little brown bat that I found on the guest bed at my sister's place. Poor little ****er spent the last minute of it's life smelling my boxers from yesterday and getting the business end of my shoe

According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, sources who knew Vinnie Paul Abbott said the former PANTERA drummer had suffered "a major heart attack" when he died in his sleep on Friday, June 22 at his home in Las Vegas.
