I had a science teacher in middle school ('76 or so) who rocked that look. "Submarine" was somewhere in her nickname.

Jim Johannson, the general manager of USA Hockey who helped put together an American Olympic team without NHL players, has died at the age of 53.

USA Hockey released a statement saying that Johannson died in his sleep early Sunday morning at his home in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Wow...that is terrible news. RIP. From what I'm seeing on Twitter, he was absolutely beloved in the hockey community.

Former Minnesota-Duluth and Hartford Wolf Pack player Andrew Carroll passed away last week in an apparent suicide. Jumped from upper level roadway at O'Hare. Family has donated his brain for CTE study.

The only thing I read by her was A Wizard of Earthsea, and based on that book didn't feel like reading more. From all I know about her though, I kind of wish I could have met her in person. She seems like a force to be reckoned with.
