As we get a couple months out, cheapest resale tickets still $180 for WVU and $245 for Iowa (whiteout). A couple months ago I thought these prices might come down, especially WVU, but guess I'm wrong.

I'd love to go but I wouldn't go over $100 in E or W, which I realize I gotta get over or I'm never going to a whiteout. End zone uppers a couple hundred? No way I'm paying that for any game.

Yeah, I pretty much abandoned any efforts for the WVU game and it being a night game really dropped the incentive level. I tried using some NBC connections but that was looking like a roadblock for more than one ticket. So we’ll do a cookout at home and it’ll be nice not getting back at 2am.

Do people actually pay these prices? I do pretty well for myself and I'm a pretty big fan but those are oh hell no prices.

I can't imagine people actually pay them, but I don't know. Maybe they do. You'll have $200 in a budget tailgate anyway with parking pass a mile away. So you figure on $600-700 just for the game with no lodging. Stay in Altoona for $300+ likely. I wanted to get an ORV pass for WVU and they sold on ebay for $1250. Wuuuut

Nice!

Prices are coming down, you can now sit in row 92 of NCU, which I believe is somewhere out around Black Moshannon State Park, for $175.

They don't play a lot of mid level teams on the home slate, except WVU which is the home opener, night game, stripe out, nearby visiting team, and a tough ticket to get. Otherwise it's Iowa in the whiteout, Michigan, then the rest is crap. Thinking maybe Indiana on October 28 is the call this year. I'm not spending actual money for Delaware or UMass.

Yeah... the way our company tickets work is you submit a paper with your ranked choices. When your name gets drawn they look at your first pick. If tickets are still available, they're yours, if not they go to your second, and so on.

My ranking was:
1. Michigan
2. WVU
3. Iowa
4. Don't bother, I'll watch from my couch, thanks.

Not football related, but State College boro is going to use eminent domain to acquire and demolish the buildings containing the Brewery and Canyon Pizza in order to build a parking garage. I wasn't a huge fan of the Brewery but it was a cool place to go to every once in a while and I'm bummed it will be gone.

Yeah, I've set my expectation that 10-2 is his ceiling. Will gladly eat crow if he proves me wrong.
