How about some good news for a change? The Great Barrier Reef is recovering.

The reef is still vulnerable to (m)ass bleaching?

Reef and ozone hole healing...? Australia is impervious to climate change...we should just dump all of our trash there like we did prisoners back in the day...another problem solved by your ol pal mikey...

I believe "Operation Death to the Hornets 2022" has been successful. After two applications of Spectracide foaming aerosol hornet killer, I was still seeing some live bees flying in and out of the nest, which I believe is an old chipmunk hole. I went back on Wednesday night with a piece of scrap metal rod that I could use as a "poker." I first foamed up the entrance so no bees could come out after me there, and then I started poking down into the ground with the rod. The instant I pulled it out, I stuck the extension tube of the Spectracide down into the hole and foamed it. After some poking, I'm pretty sure I found the main chamber. I could feel that the rod was entering a void, and foam was coming back up out of multiple of the holes when I sprayed more. I haven't seen any bees since, and today I even jumped up and down over the nest just to see if any would get mad and come after me.

Amazon bought iRobot, so between Ring, Echo, and this, they’ll have a pretty good idea of how your home life is, lol.

Something to do at night for the humans who lived prior to books, television, and the internet. Look at the stars and come up with stories.

That is the answer. I just have to know how that pissed off a guy living in Manhattan.

Probably some zodiac bullshit got him, I knew a girl like that.

Like you can even see stars in Manhattan.

At the restaurants I sometimes go to, yes.

The reason why I brought that up is because I had taken an edible and was watching what I believe to be my favorite Simpsons episode: S6E14 Bart's Comet.

It seemed like a real good fit for the thread...I mean, conceptually, it's so ****** stupid...like, just the concept is bad. Nevermind that the stars don't look like anything or that there are two trillion other stars around it...it's just a bad idea.

I hope that whatever civilization came up with it was wiped out shortly thereafter...

Pretty much every civilization invented constellations, because boredom is universal.

This discussion has caused me to learn that our "Western" constellations are older than I thought. I though they were Greek, but the Greeks basically adopted and renamed older Babylonian constellations, and many of the Babylonian constellations likely came from even older Sumerian constellations.
