While I'm still confused from that picture, I was initially confused because at first I thought it was peewee's bike and I couldn't figure out if that was peewee or Francis.

It's crazy how much more expensive things are in Alaska. Those prices are pretty much what McDs charges around here now.

Yep. I paid $11 for a Subway footlong in Nome in 2004

Pretty sure we talked about this before. My ex's dad and his family lived in Dutch for 20 years. He was an underwater welder. He worked on every boat you saw in Deadliest Catch for the first few seasons. My ex had been on most of the boats as well.

I remember her telling me that everything was SO expensive there. Like a burger and fries was $20 and this was back in the 90s and early 2000s.

Just zoomed in on the picture. $4.59 for a big Mac meal. That's not bad for today but when that sign was active? Whoooo boy.

Generic inflation calculator from 1993 to today would put that at $8.69.

Hawai'i is kind of the same way. The first time I went to Maui in 2000 a Big Mac meal was like $10.

How’d he get into underwater welding? That was a difficult gig to get into in the Navy.

I have never been to either place, but it's surprising that someone would take a trip - of any reasonable length - to either Alaska or Hawaii and end up at McDonald's...

The Hawaii locations do have local menus, but I agree.

That said, the more people who eat at places like that, the less crowded the better places are...

Hawaii is beautiful beach resorts that surround a soft white trash center. They filmed Dog the Bounty Hunter there for a reason.

Typing Hawai'i out the proper way (instead of just typing Hawaii like all of the plebs) is so delightfully on the mark.

I love you Tif. 8-)
