Did you buy the new one on Amazon?

*points to temple, smirks*

Hell yes I did. I want the best price and to receive it in 2 days, my man. FWIW, I bought another one of these (already had one downstairs):

And for good measure, I bought this for my wife's office, since she has a number of larger power adapters. Everything fits nicely, and it has USB ports:

Is anything with the Amazon brand not made in China? I deal with products from there on a daily basis, and I can tell you if there is a way to shortcut safety/quality measures, they have found it.

Anyone read this long article on CNN about AmazonBasics products and fire hazards?

Dozens of Amazon's own products have been reported as dangerous -- melting, exploding or even bursting into flames. Many are still on the market

There's a list of products at the end of the article that people have deemed fire hazards. I own a number of them.
The AmazonBasics items below have received three or more reviews describing potential dangers — with customers using terms such as "dangerous," "fire hazard" or "unsafe." Some items have very similar, or even identical, product names, so if you think you have purchased one of these products, check your order history to compare the identification numbers. While many are still for sale, several have been pulled from Amazon's site, now taking customers to dead URLs, and others are currently unavailable for purchase or new versions have been introduced.
FWIW, I asked Amazon via chat if I could return the affected surge protector that I bought in late June, and they refunded me and told me to just throw it in the trash. Even they didn't want it back.

Being that my job involves designing parts for locomotives, this made it around the office pretty quick yesterday. My first thoughts were 1) surprised the bridge was able to sustain that amount of force and 2) wtf was that person doing with their cell phone on the bridge?!

I’d have booked it out of there in a flash

Instant convertible.

Reminds me of that bridge in Durham that is notorious for truck issues.

That first one at 0:24 is sooooo good. The idiot pulling the RV hits the bridge, stops, a guy screams "STOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOPPPPPP, THAT WILL F**K YOUR SHT UP BRO!!", and then the idiot just guns it through.

Apparently it was raised by eight inches in October of 2019. That's lame.
