An Altoona man is behind bars, charged with killing a dog and punching a police officer. Altoona police say on Tuesday night they responded to 1526 5th street for a report of an injured animal. They found a 1 and 1/2 month old Chihuahua puppy inside the home with a severe head injury and flea infestation. Police say Richard Jukes stomped on the head of the puppy. When police were trying to interview Jukes, he allegedly punched one of the officers in the face. The dog died from his injuries. Jukes was charged with Aggravated Cruelty to Animals, Aggravated Assault of a Police Officer, Resisting Arrest, Obstruction of Justice, Recklessly Endangering Another Person, and Disorderly Conduct. Jukes is currently in the Blair County Prison in lieu of $75,000 cash bail.
3 dogs & 5 cats were also flea infested and were removed from the home by the Central PA Humane Society. Children, Youth, & Families were also called to the residence due to 3 children ages 4,6 and 9, living in the flea infested home.
Residents Stacy Friday and Stephanie Obssutch have also been arrested and charged with 3 counts each of Endangering the Welfare of a Child and 9 counts of Animal Cruelty.
Yup... What a sht bag familyActually that address is not too far from where noted Altoona emigrees Tif and Shaf have connections. It's sorta equidistant from Kieth Jr High (where I believe Shaf went) and where my mom currently lives.
